Tree Plantation Drive to Protect Agricultural Land

On April 12, 2026, a tree plantation program was successfully carried out along the boundaries of agricultural lands in North 24 Parganas by the Bharatiya Jan Seva Mission.

This initiative was undertaken to prevent embankment erosion and soil degradation, and to preserve the fertility of agricultural land.

Key objectives of the program:
✅ Prevent embankment erosion and soil loss
✅ Conserve fertile soil
✅ Increase water retention capacity
✅ Promote environmental awareness

This initiative will play a significant role in advancing sustainable agriculture and environmental protection

🌿 Green Initiative to Protect Agriculture | March 31, 2026 🌱
North 24 Parganas, West Bengal

As part of the environmental conservation efforts by the Bharatiya Jan Seva Mission, a successful tree plantation drive was carried out on March 31, 2026, along a vital agricultural canal in North 24 Parganas.

This canal serves as a primary source of water for local farming activities. To protect and preserve this crucial water resource, trees were planted along the canal banks.

The main objectives of this initiative are:
✅ To maintain the natural flow and water retention capacity of the canal
✅ To prevent soil erosion and bank collapse
✅ To conserve water resources for agriculture
✅ To protect local biodiversity and raise environmental awareness

🌿 Tree Plantation Drive to Begin the New Year 2026 🌿Date: 02 January 2026

As part of its continued commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development, Bharatiya Jana Seva Mission successfully launched the first program of the New Year 2026 with a Tree Plantation Drive.

The plantation activity was carried out in river-adjacent and wetland-surrounding marginal areas of West Bengal, where mango trees along with other native and fruit-bearing species were planted. The initiative aims to:

✔ Protect wetlands and preserve ecological balance
✔ Prevent riverbank erosion and land degradation through green barriers
✔ Support local livelihoods through fruit-bearing trees
✔ Contribute to environmental conservation and habitat protection
