-5th June is celebrated Barasat Unnayan Prostuti, to raise awareness and encourage action for the protection of our environment. It reminds us of our shared responsibility to conserve natural resources, reduce pollution, protect biodiversity and promote sustainable living.

✨ Empowering Change Through Gender Equality! ✨

Barasat Unnayan Prostuti (BUP) took a significant step toward building a more inclusive and equitable community. We successfully conducted a one-day intensive training on Gender Equality (supported by Free a Girl) for our dedicated staff, volunteers and case workers, crucial to work on School For Justice Program.

Here’s a look at our journey today:

🌟 Breaking Down Barriers: We explored the social construction of gender roles and the unequal division of labor through interactive activities like "A Day in Their Life."

🚶‍♀️ The Power Walk: Through hands-on exercises, participants visualized how power and privilege impact access to resources and opportunities.

🔍 A New Lens: We analyzed real-world scenarios, from education barriers to workplace restrictions, learning how to apply a "gender lens" to our grassroots case work.

🤝 Shared Growth: With 12 passionate participants (9 women and 3 men), the room was filled with rich field experiences and a shared commitment to dismantling patriarchal norms.

BUP is proud to highlight the incredible work of our facilitators Ms. Soma Sarkar, Mr. Bikash Das, Mr. Rabiul Islam and Ms. Pampi Maity, in Jalberia GP, Kultali Block.
Our team led a vital training session for 54 participants, primarily focused on ASHA and ANM workers, regarding Child Safeguarding.
