A follow-up home visit was conducted under the TRC Project focusing on a gender-variant child. During the visit, efforts were made to understand the child’s overall well-being, safety, emotional condition, and family support system. Supportive guidance and a compassionate discussion were also shared with the family to ensure continued care and protection. Such small but meaningful steps help create a safe and inclusive environment for every child.

Jagadishpur Community Orientation – Key Highlights

• Awareness discussion on how human trafficking occurs and the major risk factors involved
• Emphasis on respect, acceptance, and safety for gender-variant individuals
• Use of real-life examples and storytelling to explain the topics in a simple and relatable way
• Collection of participants’ opinions and receipt of positive feedback
• Interest expressed by community members to continue similar awareness discussions in the future

we organized a Gender Variant Feedback Orientation Program at Panigobra Uttar Para, West Bengal.
Since a similar session had been conducted earlier, participants were already familiar with the topic and showed a positive level of awareness regarding gender variants. In today’s orientation, we revisited the concept and engaged in a deeper discussion with committee members to strengthen their understanding and community sensitivity.
To make the session more relatable and impactful, we used a simple storytelling approach—sharing an “elephant story” to help participants connect with the idea in an easy and meaningful way. At the end of the program, feedback forms were distributed so that participants could share their thoughts and reflections.
Due to a lower number of members present, the feedback collection could not be completed today. However, the forms have been shared, and I will revisit next week to collect the completed responses.
Grateful for the continued community participation and looking forward to strengthening inclusive awareness together.

Under the Bijoyini TRC Project, a meeting was held to review the impact of our field-level work. The discussion focused on the positive changes among the community, school duty bearers, Gram Panchayat members, and their families.
Based on the discussion, a comprehensive report is being prepared for submission to the funding organization to support future activities and continued community development.
Together, we remain committed to strengthening awareness, empowerment, and sustainable change in the community.

This is an important and humane example of administrative support for gender variant persons.
After receiving information about the need from Bijoyini Collective, the Honorable Block Development Officer (BDO) of Hasnabad Development Block, Mr. Samir Mondal, provided 24 kg of general ration rice per month to a gender variant person as support.
Representatives of Bijoyini Collective met the BDO personally and discussed the basic needs and challenges of gender variant persons. Based on this discussion, the administration ensured this support.
The BDO also assured that similar support and cooperation will be provided in the future whenever possible.
🤝 This initiative shows positive coordination between the administration and a community-based organization for inclusive development.
Bijoyini Collective sincerely thanks Hasnabad Development Block Administration and especially Mr. Samir Mondal for this responsible and compassionate step.

Focus Group Discussion on Gender Variant Adolescents

📅 Date: 14 December
📍 Location: Jagadishpur Village, Bagda Block

On 14 December, we conducted a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with both Gender Variant (GV) and Non-Gender Variant adolescents at Jagadishpur Village, Bagda Block.

The main objective of this session was to ensure safety, dignity, respect, and inclusion for gender variant adolescents.

🔹 Session Highlights:

Introduction & Trust Building Activity
Participants sat in a circle and introduced themselves using a ball-passing activity. They also shared what they enjoy doing the most. This simple activity helped build trust and connection among the adolescents.

Creative Expression Activity
Using colorful papers and paints, participants expressed their emotions through drawings. They explained why they chose specific colors and what their drawings meant to them. This activity helped us understand their feelings, current situations, and personal identities.

Story-Based Discussion
Stories were shared to highlight the real-life experiences, challenges, and dreams of gender variant adolescents. This encouraged empathy, understanding, and acceptance among non-GV adolescents and helped reduce stigma and discrimination.

Feedback Session
At the end of the session, participants shared their feelings through emojis. Many expressed happiness, emotional connection, and inspiration, and showed interest in participating in more such sessions in the future.

ধন্যাকুরিয়া হাই স্কুলে ক্লাস XI ও XII এর ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের জন্য একটি বিশেষ School Orientation Program আয়োজন করা হয়। এই সচেতনতা সেশনটি পরিচালনা করেন Bijoyini Survivors Council, যারা কিশোর-কিশোরীদের লিঙ্গ বৈষম্য, ব্যক্তিগত নিরাপত্তা, মানসিক সুস্থতা এবং সামাজিক দায়িত্ববোধ নিয়ে কাজ করে আসছেন।

সেশনে শিক্ষার্থীরা—
✔ লিঙ্গ বৈষম্য ও লিঙ্গভিত্তিক সহিংসতা সম্পর্কে প্রয়োজনীয় ধারণা অর্জন করেছে
✔ আত্মরক্ষা, আত্মবিশ্বাস ও নিরাপদ আচরণ সম্পর্কিত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ নির্দেশনা পেয়েছে
✔ ব্যক্তিগত সীমারেখা, সম্মান ও স্বাস্থ্যকর সম্পর্ক গঠনের বিষয়ে দিকনির্দেশনা পেয়েছে
✔ সমাজে সচেতন ও দায়িত্বশীল ভূমিকা পালনের গুরুত্ব বুঝতে পেরেছে

এই উদ্যোগ শিক্ষার্থীদের মানসিক ও সামাজিক বিকাশে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করবে বলে আমরা বিশ্বাস করি।

গত ৭ ও ৮ নভেম্বর, জীবিকা ডেভেলপমেন্ট সোসাইটির পক্ষ থেকে বিজয়িনী ও উত্থান সংগঠনের আয়োজিত এক অসাধারণ নেটওয়ার্কিং মিটিং-এ অংশগ্রহণের সুযোগ পেয়েছিলাম।
এই দুইদিনের অভিজ্ঞতা ছিল সত্যিই অনন্য, শিক্ষণীয় ও অনুপ্রেরণামূলক। 🌿

সেখানে গিয়ে বহু নতুন মানুষের সঙ্গে পরিচয় হয় — সবাই নিজেদের সংগঠন ও জীবনের অভিজ্ঞতা ভাগ করে নেন। প্রতিটি গল্পই যেন ছিল সাহস, অধ্যবসায় ও পরিবর্তনের দৃষ্টান্ত।

প্রথম দিনের মূল আকর্ষণ ছিল “নিজেদের জীবনের লড়াই” বিষয়ক প্যানেল ডিসকাশন।
বিভিন্ন সংগঠনের প্রতিনিধি তাঁদের সংগ্রাম ও সাফল্যের গল্প শেয়ার করেন — কীভাবে প্রতিকূলতার মধ্যেও এগিয়ে গেছেন দৃঢ় মনোবল নিয়ে।
এরপর হয় রিফ্লেকশন সেশন ও গ্রুপ ওয়ার্ক — আমরা চারটি গ্রুপে ভাগ হই: একতা, সাহস, শক্তি, ও ক্ষমতা।
চিন্তা, লেখা, আলোচনা ও পারস্পরিক মতবিনিময়ের মধ্য দিয়ে আমরা বুঝতে পারি, সবার স্বপ্ন এক — নিজেদের ও সংগঠনের ক্ষমতায়ন।

দ্বিতীয় দিনেও ছিল প্যানেল ডিসকাশন, যেখানে বিভিন্ন সংগঠনের প্রতিনিধি তাঁদের কাজের জার্নি ও কৌশল তুলে ধরেন।
জীবিকা ডেভেলপমেন্ট সোসাইটির প্রাণবন্ত উপস্থাপন, ইন্টারঅ্যাকশন ও রিলাক্সেশন সেশনের মাধ্যমে পুরো পরিবেশটা হয়ে ওঠে আরও উদ্দীপনাময়।

এই দুইদিন আমাদের শুধু নতুন সম্পর্কই দেয়নি, দিয়েছে নিজেদের ভেতরের শক্তি, বোঝাপড়া ও একসঙ্গে এগিয়ে চলার প্রেরণা। 💪💫

At Bijoyini Social Welfare Society, while we often speak about gender variant individuals on social media, a thought recently crossed our minds —
Do we all truly understand what being “gender variant” means?

We realized that many people may still be unsure about this term, and that’s okay. So today, we want to share how we — as members of Bijoyini — understand and see gender-variant identities in our community. 💫

Who are Gender Variant Individuals? 🌈

“Gender variant” refers to people whose sense of gender, roles, or behaviors do not fully align with society’s traditional expectations.

Their feelings, expressions, identities, and attractions follow their own unique paths — shaped by who they truly are.

This identity may exist beyond the categories of ‘male’ or ‘female,’ or differ from what society often defines as “feminine” or “masculine.”

Their difference is not an exception — it is a beautiful expression of human diversity. 🌈

At Bijoyini, we believe that embracing this diversity is essential to building a society where every person can live with dignity, pride, and authenticity — just as they are. 💖

Today, our Revelian Follow-up Meeting was successfully conducted.

The main purpose of this follow-up meeting was to understand the impact of our previous activities and to evaluate the change in community perspectives towards gender-variant individuals. Through today’s discussion, it became very clear that people are now much more aware and accepting than before. They are showing empathy, trying to understand the challenges, and extending their support. Such positive change in society will definitely encourage us to continue our efforts.

Today’s experience once again reminded us that—no matter how many challenges come our way, we must keep working consistently to raise awareness and create a more inclusive society.

“বদল আসছে, মানুষ শুনছে”—বাদুড়িয়া দক্ষিণ মেদিয়ার জেন্ডার সচেতনতা মিটিংয়ের কিছু মুহূর্ত

১৯ মার্চ ২০২৫, বাদুড়িয়া দক্ষিণ মেদিয়া একটা ছোট্ট গ্রামে বড় এক আলোচনার দিন ছিল এটা। আমাদের উদ্দেশ্য ছিল কমিউনিটির মানুষদের জেন্ডার ভেরিয়েন্ট বিষয়ে আরও কাছ থেকে বোঝানো, এবং দেখা—গত সেশনের পর তাদের মনে, দৃষ্টিভঙ্গিতে কোনো বদল এসেছে কি না।

এই মিটিং শুধু তথ্য দেওয়ার ছিল না, ছিল শুনতে চাওয়ার। আর সেই শুনতেই আমরা দেখলাম বদলের ছাপ। কিছু গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পর্যবেক্ষণ রইল এখানে:

✅ সচেতনতা বেড়েছে। আগের তুলনায় মানুষ এখন অনেক পরিষ্কারভাবে বুঝতে পারছে জেন্ডার ভেরিয়েন্ট ইন্ডিভিজুয়াল কারা, এবং কেন এই বিষয়টি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

🧠 আত্ম-অনুধ্যান শুরু হয়েছে। কেউ কেউ বুঝতে পেরেছেন—আগে তারা না জেনে, না বুঝেই কারো অনুভূতিতে আঘাত করেছেন। এখন তারা দায়বদ্ধতা নিতে চাইছেন। এই স্বীকারোক্তিই আমাদের আশা জাগায়।

🗣️ কথা বলা শুরু হয়েছে। আগে যারা চুপ ছিলেন, তারাই আজ প্রশ্ন করছেন, মতামত দিচ্ছেন—এমনকি পাশে দাঁড়ানোর প্রতিশ্রুতিও দিচ্ছেন।

👀 দৃষ্টিভঙ্গির পরিবর্তন ঘটছে। অনেকেই এখন জেন্ডার ভেরিয়েন্ট মানুষদের নতুন চোখে দেখতে শুরু করেছেন—সহানুভূতি আর বোঝাপড়ার চোখে।

এই ছোট ছোট পরিবর্তনের মাধ্যমেই গড়ে উঠছে এক সহানুভূতিশীল সমাজ। যেখান থেকে exclusion নয়, inclusion-এর গল্প শুরু হয়।

❤️ ধন্যবাদ জানাই কমিউনিটির সকল অংশগ্রহণকারীদের—তোমরা শুধু মিটিং-এ আসোনি, তোমরা মন খুলে শুনেছো, প্রশ্ন করেছো, এবং বদলের অংশ হতে চেয়েছো।
