Autism and Humanity – Every Life Has Value

Har zindagi ki apni ek roshni hoti hai,
Har ehsaas ki apni ek kahaani hoti hai.

On this World Autism Awareness Day, we are reminded that beyond labels and differences, there is a shared humanity that connects us all.

Autism is not a limitation—it is a different way of experiencing the world. Yet, many individuals on the spectrum continue to face stigma, exclusion, and barriers to care, education, and opportunity.

At Act Together, we believe it is time to shift the narrative—
from awareness to acceptance,
from charity to rights,
from silence to solidarity.

Let us work towards a world where every individual is seen, heard, and valued with dignity—because inclusion is not an act of kindness, it is a matter of justice.

Join us in building a more inclusive and compassionate society.

Eid Mubarak 🌙✨

May this Eid not only bring joy to our homes, but also awaken a deeper sense of compassion within us. In a world where many continue to struggle in silence, let us choose empathy over indifference, and solidarity over silence.

This Eid, let’s stand together—for dignity, for mental well-being, and for a more just and inclusive society. Because true celebration begins when no one is left behind. 🤍

Care begins with listening. 💙
In moments of uncertainty and quiet struggle, social workers continue to stand beside communities—with empathy, patience, and care.
They create spaces where people feel heard, supported, and valued.
Their work may not always be visible, but its impact is deeply felt.
On International Social Workers’ Day, we take a moment to appreciate those who gently hold communities together and remind us of the power of compassion.

Your skin doesn’t just react to products or weather; it reacts to stress, emotions, and mental health.
From acne flare-ups before exams to itching without a rash, the mind–skin connection plays a powerful role in skin health.

Psychodermatology explains how psychological stress, hormones, and emotional regulation influence conditions like acne, eczema, psychogenic itch, and skin-picking disorders.
Healing the skin often begins with healing the mind. 🌿

🌿 Mental Health & Social Security – Building a Safety Net for Well-being

Yesterday, we gathered for a powerful workshop exploring how mental health and social security are deeply connected — because true well-being means having both emotional resilience and the safety of knowing your basic needs are met.

💬 "A mind cannot heal when it is worried about survival." This was the sentiment that ran through the entire discussion.

Our expert speakers shared knowledge and hope:

1️⃣ Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed, Consultant Psychologist, GMC Baramulla – Broke down the basics of mental health, explaining how stress, trauma, and lack of support often lead to more serious issues if ignored.
2️⃣ Hilal Farooq, representating Social Welfare Department – Guided participants through social security schemes that provide psycho legal and financial relief, allowing families to focus on living rather than just surviving.
3️⃣ Sameer Ahmed, Member CWC Baramulla shared the sponsorship scheme for children, highlighting how financial aid for education and care can prevent a lifetime of hardship.

We also heard stories from the audience:

A mother who said the sponsorship scheme allowed her daughter to stay in school after her husband passed away.

A young man who explained how a small stipend from department gave him the stability to focus on treatment instead of bills.

These moments reminded us that mental health support without social security leaves people vulnerable — and social security without mental health care leaves people struggling in silence. The two must go hand in hand.

💡 Our takeaway: A truly resilient society is one where no one’s mental health suffers because their basic needs are unmet, and where financial and emotional safety nets work together.
