Vaagdhara Voluntary Association of Agricultural General Development Health and Reconstruction Alliance

VAAGDHARA is non-government organization, registered under The Societies Registration Act, 1958, and FCRA. VAAGDHARA was formed in 1986-87 as a result of efforts of a number of individuals including health professionals, academics, farmers, and social workers. The immediate goal was to provide relief to farmers who have become victims of successive droughts in the Ghatol Tehsil of Banswara region.

Starting with delivery of agriculture inputs such as seed and fertilizer distribution for 15 farm families, the scope and work area of VAAGDHARA has expanded exponentially. With the aim of augmenting livelihood sources and options through improving traditional agricultural practices among the tribal population and other marginalized groups, the organization has undertaken a variety of activities. The organization, at a broader level, has always strived for the upliftment of tribal community through Policy advocacy, realization of child rights, empowering women, and proofing the food security net of the community through their livelihood enhancement. On this special day of Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Jayanti, Vaagdhara honors the timeless legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri—champions of Swaraj, self-reliance, and inclusive development. Guided by Gandhian philosophy, Vaagdhara has been steadfast in empowering marginalized tribal communities across Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh for over two decades.

True Swaraj is not just political freedom but the empowerment of our people, especially farmers, women, and children, to take charge of their destiny. Vaagdhara’s initiatives in sustainable farming, women’s leadership, child education, and governance echo the values of self-reliance, dignity, and justice.

We celebrate the spirit of 'Jai Jawan Jai Kisan' and reaffirm our commitment to building a resilient and equitable future where every tribal family thrives with food security, quality education, and opportunity. Let us walk together on this path of peace, non-violence, and collective progress to realize the dream of a just society.
