For many children undergoing long-term medical treatment, life can begin to revolve around hospital visits, medications, and time away from school.
At Samiksha Foundation, we believe every child deserves more than treatment — they deserve encouragement, learning, joy, and the confidence to keep dreaming about their future.
Rakesh first came to Samiksha Foundation during his treatment as an 11-year-old student whose education had been interrupted for nearly two years. Through classroom support inside the hospital, creative activities, celebrations, mentorship, and financial assistance, the foundation helped him reconnect with learning and continue his studies with confidence.
Today, Rakesh is pursuing a 6-year Pharm D course and hopes to contribute back to society in the future.
His journey is a reminder of how consistent support, compassion, and access to education can shape a child’s future in meaningful ways.

My name is Siyanath Desai, from a small village near Gokak.
When I was first diagnosed with cancer, I was terrified for not only my life but also my education. This is when Samiksha foundation stepped in and changed my life completely during and after treatment. At the time I was studying in 5th grade and Samiksha Foundation helped me continue my education and stay in the same level as my peers helping me succeed in life.
After I was discharged, they further helped me by providing a scholarship and providing me with a tablet and enabling me by providing tuition classes that helped me ace my competitive exams later during my PUC 2nd year.
I decided that I want to become a medical professional and serve patients in the same hospital where I got this extended support.
Without Samiksha Foundation’s help love and support I would have never reached my dream of becoming a professional nurse which will be a dream achieved for me in a few months’ time. I miss all my friends and teachers at Samiksha and am very grateful for their endless support without which I would not have fared so well.
My message to all families going through cancer – “Dont ever give up hope. There are good doctors and good people out there who are all willing to help with this difficult journey. You can do it!”

Jitendra’s journey with cancer shaped not only his strength, but also his desire to serve and give back to the community—just as Samiksha Foundation did for him.

Continuing his education after treatment was not easy. Financial constraints and a long break from school made the path uncertain.

Through the Samiksha Foundation Scholarship Programme, Jitendra was able to return to his studies with stability and support. This gave him the confidence to move forward and work toward a future where he can stand on his own feet.

At Samiksha Foundation, our scholarships ensure that recovery is not the end of the journey, but the beginning of a new chapter.

In his own words,
“When I stand on my own feet, I promise to give back to Samiksha Foundation and stand by them as they did for me. I also ask fellow students to do the same, if they can.”

The scholarship did not just support his education—it helped him rebuild his path and inspired him to give back to others on a similar journey.

At Samiksha Foundation, the mission goes beyond care, it’s about giving children their future back.
When Bhakti was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at just 16, her world came to a halt. Between chemotherapy sessions and hospital walls, her dreams of becoming a doctor felt distant, almost impossible.
Samiksha Foundation stepped in at a time when everything else seemed uncertain.
They didn’t just support her through treatment, they brought education, hope, and purpose back into her life. They reminded her that she was not defined by her illness, but by her potential. When financial challenges threatened to end her journey, Samiksha stood firm in their belief in her.
That belief changed everything. Samiksha funded Bhakti’s studies enabling her to fulfill her dream.
Today, Bhakti is pursuing her MBBS in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, turning her dream into reality, inspired by the very journey she once fought to survive.
This is the impact of Samiksha Foundation, Caring for Children with cancer, Bangalore. They don’t just help children heal, they help them rise, dream, and move forward with dignity, for they believe that Knowledge Empowers and Happiness Heals, and Dignity is Priceless!.
Because sometimes, belief is the most powerful medicine of all.

25th March holds a special significance for Samiksha. It was this day in 2018, we launched our first Scholarship program. 8 years and 10 such series later, we are proud to say we have had 610 scholars whose life has changed for the better because of this program.

To celebrate this milestone, we’re launching a special “Survival Series” — sharing real, unfiltered stories of the journeys behind the success and Samiksha's role in them.

Watch this space for the upcoming series!
