Oorvani Foundation Oorvani Foundation is a Bangalore-registered trust that develops and promotes deep-diving journalism

Oorvani Foundation is a Bangalore-registered trust setup in August 2013 to develop and promote deep-diving journalism on governance, citizenship and society in India at the city, state and national levels. Journalism genres include investigative, interpretative, analysis, interviews, features, films, talks and podcasts. The foundation will award fellowships to identify and tap top talent for speci

fic journalism projects. It will also facilitate citizens learning and collaboration, by organising events. The foundation will work to ensure a media that can intervene and set the terms of debate and discourse in a sphere dominated exclusively by mainline commercial media, driven by advertising, commercial interests and/or partisan political interests alone. The foundation develops reporting and data for publishing, web streaming, and podcasting through the Citizen Matters (www.citizenmatters.in) and India Together (www.indiatogether.org)platforms, using teams of editors, journalists, freelance and subject matter experts, practitioners, filmmakers, audio producers, and organisational partners.
