🎒✨ Spreading Smiles through Education ✨🎒

As part of our commitment to support education, we distributed school bags to students of Parangipalya Govt School, along with snacks for all the children.

The joy on their faces reminded us that even small contributions can create a big impact in shaping young futures. 🌸

Grateful to everyone who came forward and supported this initiative. Together, let’s continue to empower and encourage our children through education. 🙏

🌸 Happy Dasara 🌸

On this auspicious occasion, LCB HSR recognized the tireless efforts of our Traffic Police, who stand in the sun, rain, and difficult conditions to keep our city safe and moving. 🚦

As a token of appreciation, sweets were distributed to 100 traffic police staff at HSR. This small gesture was our way of thanking these unsung heroes for their dedicated service. 🙏

The total cost of the activity was ₹31,000, supported by our members as part of the LCB HSR Service Activity. 💐

Grateful to all who contributed and made this initiative meaningful. 🌟

Loss of passport - Almaty

Yesterday morning around 10am we took a taxi from our hotel to State musuem in almaty, while buying entry tickets we realised that one of our friends passport is missing and realised that he had left a pouch containing passport in the cab, The passport pouch had also some USD and for few hours we tried to track the cab driver and when we traced the cab driver he said he did not find any pouch in the cab, we r not sure whether the next passenger who sat in the cab has taken it or the driver has taken it as it contained USD.

Our flight to blr was at 8pm and it was around 12pm we realised there is no chance to get back our pouch containing passport.

We called Indian embassy in Almaty and spoke to Mr Swapnil and explained our situation, he said though the embassy is closed on saturday Mr Swapnil said not to worry and assured us that he will help us and asked us to get in touch with Mr Deepesh.

Mr Deepesh sent us a checklist and asked us to file an FIR in the local police station, get the FIR translated in english by a official translator and notarise the FIR, parallely he asked us to fill an online application for Emergency Certificate ( White passport) , our travel agent Mr Mahesh from travels4seasons helped us filing the application, then we rushed to a studio as we needed 4 passport size photos, we also need to get a certificate from lost and found office in almaty which we did, By the time we completed all these formalities, time was 4pm and all my other friends headed to airport with our luggage, we were still uncertain whether we will be travelling back to blr, i was parallely checking the cost of room and the flight cost for next day incase we dont make it.
We reached Indian embassy at 430pm and submitted all the required docs and paid 9050 kazk tenge as official fees, at 5pm we got our Emergency Certificate ( white passport)
allowing my friend to travel back to india. Thought of sharing our experience and glad that we have a indian embassy supporting us at all times.
Sincere Thanks to Mr Victor ( local tour guide) who assisted us in local language for filing FIR,
Mr Joyson Nadukunnel , Mr Mahesh of Travels 4seasons for their assistance.

Sincere thanks to Indian Embassy Almaty ,
Mr Deepesh and Mr Swapnil for their prompt action and supporting a fellow country man in a situation of crisis,

Proud to be a Indian,

Mera Bharat Mahaan.

Clay Ganesha Making Workshop – An Eco-Warrior Initiative by LCB HSR

As part of our social responsibility and commitment to encourage eco-friendly celebrations, Lions Club of Bangalore HSR organized a Clay Ganesha Making Workshop with a strong message – Say No to POP Ganesha, Care for Mother Earth.

The workshop witnessed an overwhelming participation of 120+ children along with their parents, who joyfully shaped their own Ganesha idols using natural clay. This initiative was aimed at spreading awareness about the harmful effects of Plaster of Paris (POP) idols, which do not dissolve in water and release toxic chemicals that pollute our lakes and water bodies.

To keep the spirit high, refreshments and bananas were distributed to all participants, making the event both engaging and joyful.

Through this initiative, we emphasized the importance of adopting eco-conscious practices during festivals to safeguard our environment and keep our lakes clean.

Together, let’s celebrate with devotion while also protecting Mother Earth. 🌍✨

Zero Waste, Zero Plastic Kalyanotsava at HSR – An Eco-Friendly Initiative by LCB HSR

Date: 22nd & 23rd Aug 2025

Lions Club of Bangalore HSR, in partnership with Srinivasa Kalyanotsava Trust and HSR Citizen Forum, successfully transformed the Kalyanotsava into a zero waste and zero plastic event.

In the past, this event generated nearly a truckload of waste which use to go for landfill, but this year we implemented sustainable practices to ensure minimal environmental impact. With the support of Admaya Chetana, we replaced disposables with reusable steel plates and cutlery, serving food to over 4,000 people in an eco-friendly manner.

Additionally, we eliminated unnecessary plastic covers, shawls, and other non-essential items that typically contribute to landfill waste.

As part of our social responsibility and commitment to protecting Mother Earth, LCB HSR is proud to have executed this large-scale event in a truly eco-conscious and sustainable way. 🌍✨
