West Bengal has the highest number of pledges all over India for organ donations, Hardly 1% of their organs get transplanted because of a multitude of factors right from lack of awareness to infrastructure problems. Anthyesti Foundation aims to bridge this gap by

1. Campaigning and awareness creation – We strongly believe that today’s youth are the future of tomorrow.In the survey, we would l

ike to know how aware the youth are about a sensitive issue like organ donation and in turn conduct awareness programs at a later date for the sensitization of the same.

2. Gather interest in social work – We would like to bridge the gap between organ pledging and organ transplantation by training the social workers gathered from such surveys. These people will play a major role in counseling the bereaved families into donating organs.

3. Conduct training for transplant coordinators – Anthyesti foundation is in talks with medical colleges who can send nurses for the training. We are also trying to get some surgeons into the training.

4.Softwares and modus operandi involved – We would like to bridge the gap between retrieval of an organ to harvesting of the same and finding the right match etc. Mohan foundation has already developed a software for the same. We would like to get training for the same
