About Rotaract Club: Leadership is an essential aspect of Rotary and Rotary offers both clubs and programs to help emerging leaders develop their skills. Through these groups, Rotaractors strengthen their leadership skills, serve their communities, increase their world understanding, build friendships, develop professionally and many more. Rotaract is an International program for adults of ages 18

to 30 who want to make a difference. It was founded in 1968 by Rotary International, an association of clubs made up of service-minded business and professional leaders. Today, there are more than 8,400 Rotary Club sponsored Rotaract Clubs with some 173,000 members, known as Rotaractors in over 170 countries. Rotaract brings together people in universities and communities worldwide to organize service activities, develop leadership and professional skills, and have fun. The Rotary Club of “Bangalore Highgrounds”, Rotary International District 3190, supports Rotaract Club of “NMIT – Bengaluru”, but Rotaract members manage and fund the club independently. Rotaract members work closely with Rotary Club of “Bangalore Highgrounds”, and may join after their Rotaract membership ends. Hence, the Rotaract Club of “NMIT – Bengaluru” was installed on 11th November, 2009 at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bengaluru. RCNMIT strives to enable Rotaractors of the club to grow personally and professionally, address community needs, and promote international understanding through friendship and service. Rotaract Club of “NMIT – Bengaluru” holds meetings, usually every two weeks, which feature speakers, discussions, and visits to other clubs. Rotaractors at NMIT also get together for service projects, social activities, and leadership workshops. Beyond the club level, Rotaractors of NMIT take advantage of district conferences, projects, and training seminars and participate in an international meeting prior to the annual Rotary International Convention. The Activities of Rotaract Club of “NMIT – Bengaluru” fundamentally focuses on
(i) Professional Development: A Club’s Professional Development activities should expand the members understanding of the work environment and business opportunities within their community.
