🚀 For the Better Tomorrow

Every great journey begins with a single step, and on 25th June 2026, we proudly concluded the first leg of the “My First Aerospace Program”, where students from Bengaluru cohort explored the fascinating worlds of Model Rocketry and CubeSat Development through hands-on learning and innovation.

This collaborative initiative between the La Fondation Dassault Systèmes and Society for Space Education Research & Development(SSERD) was designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of aerospace engineering while nurturing creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

It was truly inspiring to watch students turn their ideas into design and then into working models, ask insightful questions, and confidently take on engineering challenges. Their curiosity, enthusiasm, and determination highlighted the power of experiential learning in shaping the next generation of space engineers, innovators, and explorers.

A heartfelt thanks to Volunteers of Dassault Systèmes, and SSERD, Faculty of Rashtrothhana Vidya Kendra and every student whose passion and dedication made this programme a memorable success.

This is just the beginning of an exciting journey. Together, we look forward to empowering many more young minds to build rockets, design satellites, and reach for the stars. 🌍🚀✨

🚀On the occasion World Youth Skills Day 2026, under the global theme "Skills for a Shared Future," we are proud to launch My First Aerospace Program—a first-of-its-kind initiative by La Fondation Dassault Systèmes in collaboration with the Society for Space Education, Research and Development (SSERD). Inaugurated on July 14 2026, this initiative is dedicated to making aerospace education accessible to students, empowering the next generation with future ready skills through immersive, hands-on learning!

Beginning in Bengaluru and expanding to Chennai, Delhi, and Pune, this 5-day, multi-city program brings immersive aerospace education to schools across India, empowering students with future-ready skills through hands-on learning.

We are proud to kickstart this journey at Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra, Bengaluru, where the program was inaugurated by Mr. Kiran Divekar, Director – Strategy & Business Planning, Dassault Systèmes, Ms. Nikhitha C., Co-founder, SSERD, and Smt. Nanda G., Principal, Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra.

A special thanks to the La Fondation Dassault Systèmes team, Huzefa Salim, Swastishree Vibhute - Mission Anchor, and Praveen Bhagoji along with our Bengaluru Technical Program Anchors Radhika Newar and Manjunath Kalamangi, supported by Program Manager Mr. Sumith Naik and Ms. Sanchi Panpatil, for making this launch a success.

Over five exciting days, students will design rockets, satellites, and rovers using 3D design software, tackle engineering challenges, and build and test their own creations.

At SSERD, we believe the future of the space industry is being shaped in today's classrooms. Through hands-on learning, we're nurturing the next generation of Space Engineers, Innovators, and Explorers.

We are proud to empower students with hands-on learning experiences in Aerospace and Space Technology!

For a Better Tomorrow.🌍🚀

Every year, SSERD supports one deserving student whose passion for space is greater than their ability to afford the opportunity to attend Astro Space Camp.

This year, that student was Mallikarjun Salotagi, a Grade 9 student from Sri Murarji Desai Residential School.

A few weeks before Astro Space Camp 2026, we learned about a young student who was deeply passionate about space science and dreamed of building a career in the space sector. However, financial constraints made it difficult for him to participate in the camp.

Wanting to know more about him, we invited him for an interaction. During the interview, we were inspired by his knowledge, humility, curiosity, and genuine enthusiasm for space. It was immediately clear that he had both the passion and the potential to make the most of the opportunity.

Recognizing this, SSERD awarded Mallikarjun a 50% scholarship to attend Astro Space Camp 2026.

What followed made us incredibly proud.

Among 53 aspiring astronauts from across the country, Mallikarjun Salotagi was selected as one of the Top 5 Astronauts of Astro Space Camp 2026. Throughout the camp, he embraced every challenge, actively participated in every activity, and demonstrated an exceptional eagerness to learn.

Stories like Mallikarjun's remind us why we do what we do. They reinforce SSERD's mission of making quality space education accessible to passionate young minds and creating opportunities for future innovators to pursue their dreams.

Congratulations, Mallikarjun! We are proud to have been a small part of your journey and look forward to seeing where your passion for space, science, and innovation takes you next.
