Parinaam Foundation

Parinaam Foundation Parinaam Foundation is a not-for-profit company registered under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013

Parinaam Foundation was incorporated as a not-for-profit organization under Section 25 of the Companies Act 1956, on March 31st, 2008. Our mandate is to provide social services to poor women and their family members in India. Parinaam has tax exempt status under Section 12A and approval under Section 80G (5) (vi) of the Income Tax Act 1961. The 80G approval, which allows Indian citizens a tax brea

k on donations, is valid up to March 31st, 2012. Recognizing that poverty manifests itself in various forms and financial support alone cannot help the poor, Parinaam provides critical 'social' support to urban poor families. We provide services in the areas of healthcare, education, professional development and community development initiatives. We are more than just another aid giving organization, and we see ourselves as a friend, mentor, companion to 'our folks'; someone they can always turn to for support. We have a strategic partnership with Ujjivan Financial Services (https://www.facebook.com/ujjivanmicrofin), a micro finance NBFC which provides financial services to almost a million urban and semi-urban poor women across 20 States in India. The partnership with Ujjivan gives Parinaam a far broader outreach than would be possible on our own and allows us to more effectively roll out and monitor our programs.

For these girls, walking onto the field with Bengaluru Football Club (BFC) wasn’t a one-time thrill. It was the moment their love for the game met belief.

Our CEO, Mallika Ghosh, speaks about why exposure matters.
Why confidence matters.
And why dreams need space to grow.

Through our Urban Ultra Poor Programme and Academic Adoption Programme, we work to ensure that every child in Bengaluru is literate, confident, and ready for opportunity, whether that opportunity is in a classroom or on a football field.

Careers often feel abstract until students see what they look like in real life. That’s what this exposure visit set out to do.

Through a visit to PKF SRIDHAR & SANTHANAM LLP, 23 students from Grades 11, 12 and B.Com got a closer look at the world of Chartered Accountancy.

By stepping into a real workplace, students were able to move beyond assumptions, ask better questions, and think more clearly about whether this path is right for them.

Students are often asked to decide their future at 15 or 17, with very little help along the way. This programme focuses on slowing that moment down.

In partnership with iDreamCareer, and with the support of Ayush Bansal, Praveen Kumar, Ankit Bansal, Rahul Jangra, Manish Chourasia, Shivendra Singh, and Prashant Kumar, this initiative helped students explore options, understand pathways, and think more clearly about what comes next, before decisions get locked in.

The sessions were guided by counsellors Swetha Vijay Kumar and Jayasree, who worked closely with students to bring structure, perspective, and clarity to their career conversations.

Impact is often reduced to numbers. But numbers only matter when they reflect real shifts in people’s lives.

Parinaam’s Impact Index Report, 2025, looks at how access to education, livelihoods, healthcare, and financial stability changes what families can plan for. It captures progress built slowly, across programmes, communities, and years of sustained work.

Explore the Impact Index to see what long-term change looks like beyond the headlines.

For many first-generation learners, the step from academics to the workplace can feel like the biggest leap.

As part of the project supported by Deutsche Bank, via their CSR Education programme, we organised a Career Readiness session wherein employees from the bank engaged with 17 young adults from the Academic Adoption Program at Parinaam. Through hands-on, interactive modules on resume building, interview preparation, and workplace readiness, the employees worked closely with participants to help them present their strengths with confidence and better understand what the professional world really expects.

The Conversation was focused on building communication skills, personal grooming, workplace etiquette, and professional conduct that helped participants build the soft skills that often make all the difference when stepping into their first job.

Small steps. Real exposure. And a more confident move towards future employment.

In our Voices We Walk With series, today we’re talking about Sourav, our Program Coordinator for the Community Development Program (CDP) and Financial Literacy Program (FLP).

Sourav works closely with communities to ensure that our programmes don’t stop at planning but actually reach the people they’re meant for. Over time, this consistency builds trust, participation, and confidence.

That’s what progress often looks like on the ground.

Different programmes. Shared purpose.

In 2025, Parinaam’s work across education, financial inclusion, and community development supported students, parents, and neighbourhoods in meaningful ways.

As we step into 2026, we continue building with communities, across programmes, together.

A decade ago, Meena Devi took her first ₹10,000 group loan and began a small milk business from her home. Today, she owns three cows, sells 75 litres of milk daily, and earns a steady income that supports her family. Enabled by financial access, literacy, and our partnership with Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, her journey shows how determination can turn opportunity into lasting progress.
