Following the theme of Gudiya Sambhrama 2027 - Asthadasha Vidyasthanas, we slowly reveal our lineup for the plant exhibition ~ Vrksaka Vinyasa. Our humble thanks to Dr. Omprakash from Vaidyagrama for his guidance about their medicinal aspects.

Let's start with Indravalli or Balloon Vine - Cardiospermum Halicacabum, known locally as Kaadathege in Kannada, Cancivimeti in Tamil and Allena in Telugu. Associated with the Rig Veda and Indra, the King of the Devas - it has inflated papery fruits that give off a ‘pop’ sound when squeezed.

It is one of the Dasapushpam used in Kerala traditions and a powerhouse in Ayurveda and Siddha practices. Indravalli is used in the treatment of inflammations, vata related issues and can be incorporated into daily food as an anti-diabetic factor.

Our yearly Gudiya Sambhrama is a time of celebration, where we weave together the threads of our rich cultural tapestry amidst the rush of our modern life.

This year, our signature plant exhibition—Vrksaka Vinyasa—takes inspiration from a profound source: The Asthadasha Vidyasthanas, the eighteen foundational branches of traditional Bharatiya knowledge.

Get a front-row seat through our posts to a vibrant array of flora linked to these timeless disciplines of learning, arts, and sciences.

Come see the exhibition live at the Devagiri Temple from 21st - 24th January 2027!
