For many young people, learning a skill is only half the journey. The harder part is turning that skill into a real opportunity.

As industries evolve, young people need more than technical knowledge. They need practical experience, workplace readiness, and a chance to put what they’ve learned into practice. This is where apprenticeships can make all the difference.

As a strategic implementation partner of the Infosys Springboard Livelihood Program, RightWalk Foundation is strengthening apprenticeship pathways across Maharashtra and Gujarat, building the bridge between government systems, skilling institutions, and industry.

Through Apprenticeship Readiness Training (ART), young people are prepared to take their next step into the world of work. Over 10 to 60 hours, the training covers professional communication, CV and résumé development, interview preparation, career planning, workplace etiquette, and growth mindset, helping youth build the confidence to navigate the workplace.

So far, 1,787 youth have been trained through approximately 40,000 hours of training, reaching 3,077 learners, including 930 women. Over a four-year partnership spanning Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and Uttar Pradesh, the ambition is to facilitate 85,000 apprenticeship opportunities for underserved youth, including young people from aspirational districts.

Because knowing a skill is only the beginning. The path to a sustainable career also takes readiness, and the opportunity to put that skill to work.

For Shreelee, her parents’ sacrifices became a reason to keep moving forward.

Her father, a computer operator and the sole breadwinner for their family, worked hard to support their needs. Despite financial limitations, Shreelee’s parents never let their circumstances or her gender limit her ambitions. She secured 79% in Class 10 and 70% in Class 12 before earning admission to NIT Manipur to pursue BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

College brought new opportunities, but the cost of fees and academic resources also placed a growing financial burden on her family. There were moments when continuing her education felt uncertain. Learning about the Infosys Foundation STEM Stars Scholarship Program through her friends changed that.

The scholarship gave Shreelee much-needed financial support and eased the burden of educational expenses, allowing her to continue her studies with greater confidence and focus on building her future.

Beyond academics, Shreelee finds joy in painting and badminton, recently securing second place in a college competition. Today, she dreams of securing a government engineering role, building a stable future for her family while contributing meaningfully to society.

Through the STEM Stars Scholarship Program, Infosys Foundation, in partnership with Buddy4Study, supports young women from underserved communities as they pursue education in STEM and work towards their aspirations.

17-year-old Nishchal Chand from Uttarakhand reached the Under-19 Boys' Singles final at the Junior International Grand Prix 2026 in Pune. He finished runner-up to Dev Ruparelia, 16-21, 16-21, to claim the silver medal.

Reaching a final at this level, against strong competition, is no small achievement, and a clear sign of the progress Nishchal continues to make in his journey.

For many first-generation learners walking into an ITI or diploma classroom, the biggest fear isn't the technical subject. It's speaking up.

At Centum Foundation's centres, training goes beyond employability skills. Of the 10,129 youth enrolled through the Infosys Springboard Livelihood Program, 8,436 have completed training so far, gaining not just job skills but financial literacy: understanding where their salary goes, reading a payslip, tracking expenses, understanding loans and credit, and taking their first steps toward saving and investing.

The confidence comes first, and it comes gradually. Learners who could barely introduce themselves in week one are giving clear, confident answers in mock interviews just weeks later.

The learning doesn't end with an offer letter, either. Many continue applying what they've learned long after they're placed, saving, investing, and planning, carrying these lessons into their working lives.

Because financial independence isn't just about a first paycheque. It's about understanding how money works, and using that to build something that lasts, not just for themselves, but for their families.

Through the Infosys Springboard Livelihood Program, implemented with the support of Centum Foundation, this is proof that learning to manage money can matter as much as learning to earn it.

Three medals. Two athletes. A big milestone for Indian para badminton.

At the China Para Badminton International 2026 in Beijing, Centre for Badminton Excellence para-athletes Naveen Sivakumar and Nithya Sre Menon put together an impressive campaign, bringing home one gold and two silver medals.

Naveen claimed gold in Men’s Singles SL4 and followed it with silver in Men’s Doubles SL3-SU5. Nithya added another silver in Women’s Singles SH6.

Their performances reflect the determination and hard work that goes into competing at the international level, and mark another milestone in their sporting journeys.

For Lazo, her first salary was more than a paycheque. It was a way of giving back to the people who had always stood by her.

Coming from Kumarganj in Ayodhya, Lazo grew up as the eldest daughter in a small farming family. Determined to build a career and support her father despite financial constraints, she joined the Infosys Springboard Livelihood Program, implemented by Yuva Unstoppable, to gain the skills and confidence to step into the professional world.

Today, that journey has taken her from her village to Gurugram, where she works at VVDN Technologies with a monthly CTC of ₹21,000.

She now supports her father, contributes to household expenses, and is pursuing higher education through her own earnings; all funded by the confidence and skills she built along the way.

Her journey reminds us that when young people are given the right skills and opportunities, a first job can become the beginning of something much bigger.

For Sandhya, pursuing higher education meant holding on to a dream even when circumstances made it difficult.

After losing her father, Sandhya’s mother, a farmer, became the sole earner for their family of three children, with an annual income of less than ₹1 lakh. Yet, determined to pursue engineering, Sandhya prepared for JEE Mains through self-study and secured a 95.6 percentile.

Today, she is pursuing BTech in Mechanical and Automation Engineering at Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women, with a dream of becoming a medical researcher.

As financial challenges began to make continuing her education uncertain, the Infosys Foundation STEM Stars Scholarship Program, implemented in partnership with Buddy4Study, gave Sandhya the support she needed to continue her studies with greater confidence.

Sandhya now hopes to bring together her engineering background and interest in healthcare to contribute to medical research. She also wants to support other girls in her community in pursuing their education.

They trained side by side. In Chengdu, they found themselves on opposite sides of the net.

At the WAG Badminton Asia U17 & U15 Junior Championships in China, 15-year-old Tanvi Patri and Shaina Manimuthu, both trainees at CBE, faced each other in an all-Indian, all-CBE final in the U17 Girls’ Singles category.

After overcoming strong opponents from China and Japan on their way to the final, the two training partners put up a closely fought contest. Tanvi emerged as the U17 Asian champion, defeating Shaina 11-15, 15-10, 15-12.

Their journey to the final was also a milestone for Indian junior badminton, as two young Indian athletes stood among the best in Asia.

For Tanvi, the Asian title adds to a breakthrough year that has already seen her win her first senior international title in Indonesia and rise to World No. 103 at just 15. For Shaina, an Asian final is another significant step in her journey.

CBE added another medal to its tally, with Tanmay Verma and Aditya Negi winning bronze in the U15 Boys’ Doubles category after impressive wins against pairs from Thailand and China.

Their achievements show what can happen when young athletes have the opportunity to train, compete and grow over the long term.

For many students at a polytechnic like R L Jalappa in Karnataka, this diploma is meant to open the door to structured & salaried employment.

126 final-year students spent a session closing a different kind of gap: the distance between knowing a subject and being ready to work in it. Group discussions built around real workplace situations, like handling a disagreement with a supervisor, or explaining a technical issue to a customer who isn't familiar with the terms. Mock interviews, one on one, with feedback on everything from body language and filler words to how clearly an answer comes across.

Closer to an actual placement drive, the center is set up to mirror a real hiring day. Students are briefed on the company, the role, and even the dress code, with a final mock interview built around the exact job they're applying for. By the time the real thing arrives, it won't be their first time.

Bhumika S, one of the students, put it simply: "With every pursuit, I get one step closer to becoming who I'm meant to be."

Strengthening cardio-obstetric care for expecting mothers.

Infosys Foundation collaborated with Madras Medical College (MMC) to inaugurate an exclusive cardio-obstetric outpatient unit and a state-of-the-art cardio obstetric catheterization laboratory at the Institute of Cardiology, Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH), Chennai.

Infosys Foundation has given a grant of over ₹31 crore to help strengthen MMC's cardio-obstetric care facilities, including support for the National Pregnancy and Cardiac Diseases (NPAC) study, the largest global single-center study on pregnancy-related heart disease.

The new units will help alleviate maternal mortality caused by heart-related diseases, strengthening cardio-obstetric care at RGGGH for pregnant women across Tamil Nadu.
