August Impact Update | From Service to Enterprise
August was a month of purpose, ambition and action.
Through our entrepreneurship awareness and mentoring initiatives, we reached 1,775 retiring Army JCOs and NCOs through 18 Awareness Programs, followed by 18 Aspiring Entrepreneurs Workshops engaging 803 participants. But awareness was only the beginning. 545 aspiring entrepreneurs enrolled for one-on-one mentoring to refine their business ideas, understand the market, strengthen their plans and take the crucial step from an idea to an enterprise.
And the results are encouraging: 126 entrepreneurs have successfully started their businesses.
Their ventures span diverse sectors and reflect the determination, discipline and adaptability of our veterans:
Agri & Allied: Corn, rice, pomegranate, sugarcane, soybean, chickpeas, lentils and other farming ventures
Animal Husbandry: Dairy, fisheries, goat farming and poultry
Retail & Trading: Clothing, hardware, electrical, medical and fertilizer stores
Food & Agri Enterprises: Honey extraction, restaurants and protein drinks
Services & Others: PG accommodation, real estate, security agencies, transport, cyber cafés and more
These are not just businesses. They are livelihoods created. Families strengthened. Local economies energized and new journeys of service beginning after military service.
We are proud to stand alongside these men as they transition from serving the nation to building enterprises that serve their communities.
But the opportunity is much bigger. There are thousands of retiring servicemen with the discipline, leadership, resilience and entrepreneurial potential to build successful businesses. We are looking for partners and funders who believe in this opportunity.
With the right support, we can take this program to many more veterans, help more ideas become viable enterprises, and create hundreds — potentially thousands — of sustainable livelihoods.
Invest in a veteran. Invest in an entrepreneur. Invest in a stronger local economy.
