Every child deserves a safe way to speak up.

At Helping Hand Welfare Society (HHWS), we have placed confidential complaint boxes away from CCTV cameras, so children can share concerns freely.

With clear reporting options—to the Institution Head or HHWS team—we ensure every voice is heard and acted upon, in line with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Today we get to know Kasiram, a Field Officer at Helping Hand Welfare Society.

Kasiram is from the first batch of the Asiad Aid School for the Blind. He joined the blind school in Class 6. Before that, he found it very difficult to study in a regular school. However, after enrolling in the blind school, his life changed completely.

He completed his education up to Class 12 at the blind school and later went on to Spicer College, where he studied Bachelor of Theology (B.Th). He also completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) from Andhra University.

He then joined HHWS as a field officer and has not looked back since. He remains deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve in the very space where he was once supported.

We are proud of you!

In December 2025, the HHWS team visited Anekal Block and spent time interacting with teachers and Cluster Resource Persons (CRPs). Through these conversations, we understood how important the CRP centres are for teachers — as spaces where they come together for meetings, planning, and sharing ideas.

Seeing the need to strengthen this space, we followed up with the Block Education Office to understand how best we could support. Over the next few weeks, our team revisited the centre, identified the requirements, and arranged the necessary resources.

In March 2026, the centre was upgraded with better workspace, furniture, and essential equipment. Today, the centre supports teachers from 12 government schools, giving them a more comfortable and functional space to meet and plan. Since the centre is located within a government school, these improvements will also benefit the school and children directly.

Small improvements in shared spaces like this go a long way in supporting teachers — and in turn, impacting many classrooms and children.

This marks the first of many such initiatives by HHWS in Anekal, with a continued commitment to supporting teachers across the country.

Pratima Kumari Sahoo, who comes from a humble farming family in Jharkhand, secured 87.6% and became the topper at Miranda College of Nursing, Bangalore. She completed her schooling at SDA School, Tonia, and SDA Senior Secondary School, Khunti, before moving to Bangalore to pursue her BSc in Nursing. Studying away from home was not easy, but she stayed focused on her goal and studied for 10–12 hours a day before her exams to achieve this result. She has expressed heartfelt gratitude to her sponsor, whose support helped her continue her education and move closer to her dream of serving patients through nursing.

🎉 We are proud of you, Pratima. Wishing you the very best for your future endeavours. 🎉
