Some hearts carry grief quietly. Some are learning how to begin again. Some are fighting thoughts they cannot put into words. And some are simply trying to make it through today.

On World Su***de Prevention Day, we hold space for every one of them — those who are struggling, those who are rebuilding, those who love someone who is struggling, and those whose absence still leaves an ache behind.

May we become a little more willing to listen, a little more courageous in asking “Are you okay?”, and a little more intentional about reminding one another:

You are needed. You are wanted. Your life matters. You do not have to carry it alone. 🤍

This September, YuvaLok stands in solidarity with the global call for su***de prevention by wearing the purple and teal ribbon as a symbol of remembrance, awareness, support, and hope.

As an organization committed to investing in lives, we believe that creating safer, more compassionate communities is a shared responsibility.

May we become better at recognizing the signs, making space for difficult conversations, and reminding those who are struggling that they do not have to navigate it alone. May this movement go beyond mere symbolism and start a conversation- Because silence can isolate, but a Connection can save a LIFE!

September is globally recognized as Su***de prevention month - a time to examine not only the issue of su***de, but also the ways in which we understand distress, respond to vulnerability, and create spaces where people can seek help.

So we at YuvaLok begin this month with a commitment to notice more, listen better and respond with greater compassion because everyone is fighting a battle we cannot see but one conversation could make that battle less lonelier to fight.

Aligned with the 2026 global theme “Changing the Narrative on Su***de” and the call to action “Start the Conversation,” YuvaLok will spend this month creating opportunities for our school community to learn, reflect, speak openly and strengthen the ways in which we support one another.
We will also explore how we can recognize distress earlier, encourage help-seeking, strengthen connection and create safer spaces for difficult conversations.

Because the narrative changes when we stop assuming, start listening, and make space for people to speak.

So here is to meaningful change- one conversation, one step at a time!

We visited Anjani Tailors, but what we witnessed was much more than a shop. We witnessed the impact of opportunity, perseverance, and a woman who dared to believe in herself.

Through YuvaLok’s Threads of Life programme, Anjani transformed a skill into a livelihood and a dream into reality.

Her journey reminds us that when women are equipped with the right tools and support, they don’t just change their own lives—they uplift their families and strengthen their communities.

Each year, the fund supports the Top 3 Standard 10 Board Exam achievers, covering their entire course fees for five years, ensuring that financial challenges never stand in the way of academic excellence.
