Building a “Purple” Delhi : Wheelchair-friendly ramps were installed across 21 Primary Schools in Delhi to help create a barrier free environment for Children with Special Needs. The initiative has also improved accessibility for Teachers with Disabilities who earlier faced challenges in accessing school premises.

Across India, many Children with Disabilities either never get the opportunity to attend school or are forced to drop out because of inaccessible infrastructure and the lack of basic mobility access within campuses like ramps, toilets, play area and accessible furniture. These hurdles become a lifelong barrier to education, independence and dignity. Through these interventions, RampMyCity is working towards changing that reality, one school at a time.

Inclusive education forms the foundation of a society free from mental barriers towards Persons with Disabilities. When children grow up learning alongside individuals with disabilities from an early age, they naturally develop empathy, understanding and become stronger allies for inclusion.
