Agastya International Foundation is a Bangalore based education trust that seeks to transform and stimulate thinking of rural children. Agastya does this by bringing innovative, hands-on education to the doorstep of rural schools across India. This is through the use of outreach programs such as Science on Wheels (Mobile Van Programme) and science fairs. Agastya's vision of a creative India of 'ti

In 2009, Agastya started Operation Vasantha — the “Night Village School” program — to help children and school dropouts continue their education and reconnect with learning.

For many children in rural India, education often takes a backseat as families struggle to make ends meet. Many leave school early to support their households, and returning later can feel overwhelming due to learning gaps, social pressure, and loss of confidence.

Through Operation Vasantha, volunteer tutors from local communities support these children in restarting their learning journey. Along with teaching, these volunteers receive regular training and educational support.

In 2024–25 alone, Operation Vasantha reached 13,387 children through 369 OV Centers across India, helping children return to classrooms and rebuild confidence in learning.

Join the cause and help bring learning opportunities closer to more children in rural India.

A Mobile Science Lab (MSL), supported by the Gurukrupa Foundation, is currently reaching schools across Thiruvallur, Chennai, bringing hands-on science learning closer to children.

Over the past one year, the program has reached over 2,000 children, sparking interest through simple, interactive experiments that make concepts easier to understand.

The response from both children and the community has been encouraging. Sessions are lively and engaging, with children actively participating, asking questions, and enjoying the process of learning by doing.

Prerana, Agastya’s Annual Employees’ meet, brought together teams from across India under one roof to reflect, question, and realign at the Campus Creativity Lab, Gudivanka, Andhra Pradesh, from 23 to 25 April 2026.

Through open conversations and shared experiences, teams explored how collaboration shapes the way we work and move forward together.

Different roles, one purpose returning with clearer direction and stronger connections.

It began with a small workshop in 1999. A room full of teachers, a few ideas, and a shared belief that learning could feel different.

From that moment grew the Teacher Transformation Program reaching thousands of educators across the country. What started as a single workshop has now trained 3,636 teachers, touching the lives of over 300,000 children through more than 100,000 hours of learning.

Here, teachers don’t just attend sessions they experience, question, and build. They return to their classrooms with simple, hands-on ways to make learning come alive, using materials that are accessible and easy to recreate.

Because when a teacher’s approach changes, every child they meet experiences it.

There are still many classrooms waiting for this shift.

Support a teacher. Reach hundreds of children.

The K. V. Raghavan Changemaker Fellowship Launch Forum

Rooted in the vision of our Founder trustee, Shri K. V. Raghavan, who believed that “people matter most,” Agastya launched this fellowship program, which aims to build a strong network of changemakers who can learn from each other, collaborate, and amplify their impact.

The fellowship kicked off with a 5-day launch forum. Over five days at the Agastya Creativity Campus, Gudivanka, Andhra Pradesh we brought together a diverse cohort of passionate educators, innovators, and leaders from 21 organisations from across India each committed to reimagining education.

The forum was not just a gathering but a space for dialogue, reflection, and co-creation, featuring knowledge-sharing sessions, immersive dialogues, visionary keynotes, radical exposure visits, and co-creation workshops.

We were honored to have distinguished guests engage deeply with our fellows. Through insightful talks and one-on-one interactions, our participants had the privilege of learning from:

Ramji Raghavan, Founder & Chairperson, Agastya

Dr. V. K. Aatre, former Head of DRDO

Dr. A.S. Kiran Kumar, former Chairperson of ISRO

Prof. N.M. Agarwal, IIM Bangalore

Dr. Vinay Dabholkar, Innovation Expert

Through rich conversations, experiential learning, and exposure visits, our fellows engaged deeply with ideas of hands-on learning and systemic change.

As the forum concludes, the journey continues.

At the Agastya Campus, every corner invites curiosity.
From giant science models to open spaces filled with ideas, children don’t just see science they experience it.

Here, learning happens through doing, questioning, and exploring.

It started with a single space. A quiet beginning with a simple idea to bring learning closer to children who needed it most.

Mobile labs carried that idea forward, reaching villages and schools. But some places needed more than a visit. They needed a space that stayed. That’s how STEM Centers and Digital Literacy Centers began to take root.

Today, across 152 centers in India, children walk in from nearby schools into spaces where learning feels different hands-on, engaging, and filled with possibility. For many, it’s their first real experience of exploring science, technology, and ideas beyond textbooks.

And yet, there are still many schools waiting.

Every child deserves a place like this, close to where they are.

Help build a STEM center for every school.
