India's 14.71 lakh schools serve over 24.69 crore students. Near-universal access has been achieved at the primary stage. Foundational literacy is improving. Infrastructure is expanding.
India has made real progress in getting children into school. But the question isโwhat are they actually learning?
As we work toward Viksit Bharat 2047, we need to ask: Are we preparing children just to pass exams, or to collaborate, think critically, and thrive in real life?
The answer lies in making life skills core, not optional.
