The Foundation for Agrarian Studies (FAS), in collaboration with Christ University, Bangalore, Yeshwanthpur Campus, is scheduled to hold the Young Scholars’ Conclave 2026 from December 2–4, 2026.

The Conclave will bring together young researchers working on issues related to rural transformation and agrarian change.

The deadline for abstract submission is September 9, 2026.

Ajil Mankunnummal, Research Officer at the Foundation for Agrarian Studies (FAS), and Dr. Manoj Kumar Patel, Research Associate at ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetics Research (NBPGR), visited the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru (UAS-B), and the ICAR-National Institute of Seed Science and Technology (NISST), Regional Station, Bengaluru, on Friday, 24 July 2026, as a part of the CGIAR Standing Panel on Impact Assessment (SPIA)-funded research projects titled “Dynamics of Agricultural Innovation in North India and Dynamics of Agricultural Innovation in South India”.

The data and other information obtained from UAS-B and the ICAR-NISST Regional Station will contribute substantially to the ongoing projects.

The Foundation for Agrarian Studies recently conducted a socio-economic survey in two villages – Panduvva and Yendagandi -- in West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh, in June and July 2026.

The first phase of the study -- the socio-economic survey -- concluded on July 16, 2026.

During July 15-17, 2026, a team from the Foundation for Agrarian Studies (FAS) visited Hyderabad, as part of the projects titled “Dynamics of Agricultural Innovation in North India” and “Dynamics of Agricultural Innovation in South India”, funded by CGIAR–Standing Panel on Impact Assessment (SPIA).

The FAS team, comprising Dr. Sandipan Baksi (Director) and Dr. Tapas S. Modak (Joint Director), visited ICRISAT, IIRR, and IIMR, meeting with Dr. Himanshu Pathak (Director General, ICRISAT), Dr. Stanford Blade (Deputy Director General – Research and Innovation, ICRISAT), Dr. Swamikannu Nedumaran (Principal Scientist – Agricultural Economics, ICRISAT), Dr. C. Tara Satyavathi (Director, IIMR), Dr. M. Srinivas Prasad (Director, Acting, IIRR), and Dr. Amtul Waris (Principal Scientist, IIRR).

The visit offered valuable insights into agricultural innovation and institutional collaborations, and an opportunity to invite the scientists to the upcoming "One-day Consultation on the Dynamics of Agricultural Innovation in South India."
