The Baale Mane Gopalapura To provide a safe & happy home, education & holistic development to empower disadvantaged girls.

Founded in 2001 by Paraspara Trust, an NGO dedicated to the eradication of the child labour system, and now governed by The Baale Mane Trust, the home provides shelter and a loving home for girls. They girls are either orphans, have a single parent who is unable to care for them or have lost contact with their parents. Most of the girls have been rescued from domestic service, some have been found

homeless in the streets by volunteers and others have been given shelter having been arrested by the police when living on the streets.

Where you start should not decide where you can go.
According to the ILO, 71% of a person’s earnings are determined by circumstances of birth, such as country and s*x.
For the girls at Baale Mane, gender can often intersect with difficult circumstances and disrupted access to education—creating barriers before they have even had the opportunity to build their own path.
But circumstances should not define a future.
That is why Baale Mane works in a holistic manner through a home, safe education, life skills, creative expression, opportunity and the support to make choices for themselves.
Because where a girl begins should never determine how far she can go.

Kabaddi in full swing! 🤾‍♀️ Sports are a big part of life — the girls play everything from throwball and volleyball to athletics, kho-kho, kabaddi and badminton, many representing their schools on official teams. Research backs what we see on the field: girls who play sports build stronger confidence, leadership skills and a real sense of belonging — benefits that carry well beyond the game. Yet girls from under-resourced communities often have far fewer chances to play. At Baale Mane, we make sure that isn't the case for our girls. Go team Baale Mane! 🏅

They built their own guitars — out of cardboard, colour, and imagination. 🎸🎨 As part of our Summer English Programme, the girls explored the theme Music & Song — and took it one step further by making their very own guitars! From cardboard and craft materials to colourful details, they turned simple things into something they could proudly call their own. Creative activities like these are about much more than making something pretty. When children draw, build, paint, craft or create, they learn to experiment, solve problems, express themselves and turn ideas into something tangible.
At Baale Mane, creativity is a space for our girls to imagine what is possible — and then make it themselves.

A little throwback to summer, when music met creativity met language learning. 🎶🎨 As part of our Summer English Programme, the girls explored the theme Music & Song — and took it one step further by making their very own guitars. Working with cardboard, paint and whatever craft materials they could get their hands on, they measured, cut, and decorated their designs until each guitar was something they could proudly call their own.
When children draw, build, paint, craft or create, they learn to experiment, solve problems, express themselves and turn ideas into something tangible. They build patience, confidence, and the freedom to try, make mistakes, and try again.
At Baale Mane, creativity is a space for our girls to imagine what is possible — and then make it themselves.

Throughout the year, the girls have additional academic support & tuition to strengthen their understanding, keep pace with their schoolwork & build confidence. Dedicated tuition groups provide extra support in subjects where girls may need more time or practice. These sessions give girls a little more time to ask questions, practise difficult concepts and learn at their own pace—helping them approach their academics with greater confidence. Because every girl deserves the support she needs to believe, “I can do this.”
