World Day for Assistive Technology | 4 June 2026

Unlock the Everyday

For millions of people around the world, assistive technology is not merely a product—it is a vital means of enabling independence, participation, dignity, and opportunity.

Whether it is a wheelchair, hearing aid, communication device, prosthesis, or another assistive product, access to appropriate assistive technology can facilitate education, employment, healthcare, social engagement, and meaningful participation in community life.

Today, on the World Day for Assistive Technology, Motivation India is proud to join the global campaign and support the collective efforts led by ATscale to raise awareness of the critical importance of equitable access to assistive technology.

When appropriate assistive technology is available, everyday activities become attainable, aspirations can be realized, and lives are positively transformed.

However, millions of people continue to lack access to the assistive products and services they require.

Together, we can help address this challenge.

The smiles and the finale at the Wheelchair Service Training Program – Intermediate Level - Empowering mobility. Enabling independence.

Motivation India is pleased to share that our Wheelchair Service Training Program – Intermediate Level from 4th to 8 May 2026, in Raipur, Chhattisgarh was extremely successful. The training was held in partnership with Aakanksha Lions Institute of Learning and Empowerment, Raipur, and with the support of Rangoonwala Foundation. Thank you!

The training brought # together 21 (9 women and 12 men, who include 2 wheelchair users) committed physiotherapists, special educators, wheelchair service providers, and community facilitators serving under-served communities from Chhattisgarh and Nepal .

The training aligned with the WHO Guidelines, reflects a strong multidisciplinary and inclusive approach to strengthening person-centred wheelchair service delivery.

Key areas covered:
> 24-hour positioning techniques
> Postural assessment for children and adults
> Selecting appropriate seating systems
> Applying the World Health Organization wheelchair provision process
> Practical skills for manual wheelchairs with cushions and postural supports
> Preventing secondary complications such as pressure sores, scoliosis, and contractures
> Customization, fitting, and user training
> Repairs, maintenance, and follow-up

We were honoured to have K. Y. Venkatesh, Padma Shri awardee and international para-athlete, join us on Day 2 of the South Zone Wheelchair Basketball Championship 2026.

Hosted by Motivation India in collaboration with the Karnataka State Wheelchair Basketball Association, the championship took place on 2–3 May at Sree Kanteerava Stadium.

A heartfelt thank you to State Street and all our well-wishers for your wholehearted support in making this event a success.

Many congratulations to the winners of the South Zone Wheelchair Basketball Championship 2026 hosted by Motivation India in collaboration with the Karnataka State Wheelchair Basketball Association and the Wheelchair Basketball Federation of India.

Held on 2–3 May at Sree Kanteerava Stadium, the championship brought together 100+ wheelchair players from Karnataka, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala—making it a truly inspiring showcase of talent, determination, and teamwork.

A big thank you to the referees, coaches, physios, ambulance team, volunteers, and support staff—this mega event would not have been possible without your dedication.
