Service Activity 121 & 120 Report
We had a very good experience with Navkis Educational Centre, Mathikere, where 25 students along with the Vice Principal Kakoli Mukherjee and 2 teachers joined to handover the 754 kgs of rice to AIR Humanitarian Homes, Chikkagubbi, a home for the mentally challenged and destitute. It was a very heart touching moment seeing the children's positive response towards the inmates, as they sang for them and in turn the inmates sang for the children.
The school was deeply moved by our clubs selection of the mentally challenged AIR Humanitarian Home as a beneficiary of this project (the discussion on this project started about 2 months back) and were very happy to serve at the home, fully satisfied that their social impact project of partnering with the 1500+ students of the school with a motto of collecting a fistful of rice resulted in a staggering pool of 750+ kgs of rice. The supply handed over today will serve the home for close to 25+ days, a huge revenue benefit for the institution estimated at a value of Rs 40000-45000 at todays market rate.
The afternoon ended with a sumptuous lunch sponsored by our President Ln MK Sharma and the 25 children was so happily serving the inmates and later we parted ways. Nevertheless, today we were convinced that we did impact 25 children to be future guardians of the much less privileged.
Thanks to Need Base India Co-Ordinator , Mrs. Shilpa for introducing the Vice Principal, as the school reached out to her for a good contact to identify the beneficiary for their school social impact projects.
The program was attended by President MK Sharma, Secretary Lakshmikanth and myself.
The President also sponsored juice and water bottles for the Teachers and Kids.
We are ever grateful to the Principal, Mrs. Seema Gupta, Vice Principal Mrs. Kakoli Mukherjee, Co-ordinators Mrs. Geetha and the management of Navkis Educational Centre for their thoughtful impact towards society and igniting the minds of children towards reaching out towards the less privileged. Indeed today was a day spent in the most blessed way.
