So sad to see how the National Military Memorial has no real regular supervision or oversight. Today, the place is swamped in branches and leaves and no one can’t walk. The home guards are strolling just sitting back while senior Citizens like us are picking up heavy branches and trying to make the path a little safer for other walkers . Also called Flight Lt LoLaksha, who is the head of NMM , who did not have any idea - requested him to help action before someone slips and falls..
What is also shocking to see the massive Indian National Flag TORN - apparently since the last two days . NMM needs care attention daily checks. The Sainik Board really needs to step up action this for our martyrs .
We need to do better !

Times Of India covers 18 April through its iconic Bangalore walks here is a comment from Heritage Beku founder. Priya Chetty-Rajagopal
“Bengaluru’s real heritage isn’t just in its palaces or iconic buildings — it lives in the everyday. It’s the chakota seller outside Cottonpet, the rustle of old rain trees in Cubbon Park, the evening aarti at a 200-year-old temple tucked between glass towers,” says Priya Chetty Rajagopal, civic evangelist and Heritage Beku founder.
“Celebrating everyday heritage isn’t nostalgia — it’s resistance, it’s belonging. It tells our children where they come from. It gives our migrants a way to root themselves. Bengaluru’s future is brighter when it remembers its past,” she adds.
Bengaluru isn’t ‘new’ — it’s ancient and reborn many times over. And we must allow its many rebirths to make it stay current and generation relevant

The State Central Library at Cubbon Park, certainly deserves better! Talk about it being painted has been going on for two years and all the while this beautiful building gets older and duller into a faded maroon, certainly not the dark and bright Pompeii red that the building originally had. Even the Karnataka government museum has now got the perfect museum red in its renovation. children’s library in Cubbonpark also needs a small do over. It has some ghastly yellow and green stripes and the space around@It has just been left to rot. .
This is not a big deal and two years of being this shabby does not work for Cubbonpark. Let’s give ourselves a real deadline and finish this. We want to see the jewel shining again. Thank you all in advance for your attention and for sharing
