This Sunday, Heritage Beku welcomes Nrityagram to the Cubbon Park Bandstand for a morning of Odissi, one of India’s most graceful & evocative classical dance traditions.

Founded by the legendary Protima Gauri, Nrityagram is India’s renowned dance village, where the gurukula tradition continues to flourish through immersive learning, artistic excellence & a lifelong dedication to dance.
This special ensemble performance brings together dancers from across the country, celebrating a shared journey of learning, community & belonging.

Rooted in the temples of Odisha, Odissi is a dance of devotion, poetry & storytelling. Through graceful movement & expressive artistry, the dancers invite audiences into a world of beauty, rhythm & spirituality.

We begin August with a celebration of devotion, rhythm & the timeless beauty of Bharatanatyam.

Heritage Beku presents a Bharatanatyam recital by the disciples of Nritya Sinchana School of Dance and Music, under the guidance of Dr. Rashmi Thaper.

A renowned Bharatanatyam artiste, choreographer, teacher & scholar, Dr. Rashmi Thaper has spent over three decades nurturing the classical arts. Through Nritya Sinchana, she continues to inspire young dancers with a tradition rooted in excellence, expression & grace.

This Sunday’s performance journeys through the many shades of Bharatanatyam, from a soulful Shiva Stuthi and a beloved Purandara Dasa Devaranama to a vibrant Devi Kriti, culminating in an energetic Thillana.

Latha Reddy IFS , and a part of Heritage Beku , passes away, This is shocking, tragic .
She celebrated at her birthday party a couple of months ago and was surrounded by family and friends
She was a legend- strong, erudite and passionate about heritage and other causes- and utterly charming, She was always supportive on Heritage Beku and worked on a few initiatives & meetings. I am heartbroken that she’s gone .
A great woman. Bangalore , may the world, is poorer for her absence,

Join us for a serene Sunday morning of classical dance at the Cubbon Park Bandstand.

This week, Heritage Beku welcomes Sanjana Prasad B. K., an accomplished Kuchipudi dancer with over 18 years of training under Guru Smt. Vid. Rajashree Holla at Laasya Lahari Samskruthika Kalasamsthe. A World Natya Champion 2020 and Doordarshan B Grade artiste, she has performed at prestigious events including the Vempati Jayanthi Nrutyotsavam & the Articulate Festival.

Her recital features Bagilanu Teredu by Kanakadasa, Vedalera, Govardhana Giridhara Tarangam with the iconic brass plate dance, and Krishna Shabdam showcasing the expressive storytelling, rhythm and devotional depth of the Kuchipudi tradition.

Heritage Beku presents Carnatic Reimagined, a unique keyboard recital by Adithya Venkatesh, where the timeless beauty of Carnatic music meets subtle influences of jazz and blues.

A gifted keyboardist and pianist, Adithya received early training under Karnataka Kalashree Vidwan Shri Tirumale Srinivas and Vidwan Shri Ramdas. For the past decade, he has trained under Kalaimamani Vidwan Shri Kumaresh Rajagopalan and jazz pianist Vivek Santosh. Having performed at leading venues including IIM Bangalore, Chowdiah Memorial Hall, Mumbai Fine Arts, and Puttaparthi Kulwant Hall, he has presented over 70 concerts and is the recipient of the Rising Star of Carnatic Music (2022) and Yuva Sangeetha Puraskar (2023).

Joining him on stage is Vid. Vinod Ramanarayanan on the Ghatam & Cajón, bringing rich rhythmic textures to the performance.

The second Sunday of July celebrates the music, stories & soul of Karnataka.

Heritage Beku presents ನಾಡಿನ ನಾದ – Every Step of Life Has a Song, a unique Carnatic vocal experience by Bengaluru-based vocalist *Smt. Surabhi Sheshadri* at the Cubbon Park Bandstand.

A B-graded artiste of All India Radio and recipient of the CCRT National Scholarship for Carnatic Classical Vocal, Surabhi has trained under eminent gurus & currently continues her musical journey under Vid. Smt. Madhuri Kaushik through RaGa Shiksha. Having performed at renowned sabhas and temple festivals across Bengaluru & Mumbai, she is also a trained Bharatanatyam dancer whose artistry reflects a deep connection to Karnataka’s rich musical and cultural heritage.

More than a traditional Carnatic concert, ನಾಡಿನ ನಾದ is a thoughtfully curated musical journey built around a simple idea…every step of life has a song. Through lullabies, devotional compositions, folk melodies, vachanas, poetry and classical masterpieces, the programme celebrates how music has always been woven into the lives, traditions, festivals and faith of Karnataka. Blending soulful music with engaging storytelling, it offers an immersive celebration of the state’s living heritage.

Joining Surabhi on stage are *Shri Amogh Nadadur on the violin and Shri Anghiras Mahadevan on the mridangam*, two accomplished young artistes bringing depth and vibrancy to the performance.

The first weekend of July begins with a journey into the timeless world of Indian puranas.

Heritage Beku presents Ananta: Tales of the Divine, a Bharatanatyam ensemble by the students of HreemKari School of Dance, under the guidance of Acharya Prathiba Satyavannan, at the Cubbon Park Bandstand.

Founded in 2014, HreemKari School of Dance has nurtured over 100 young dancers through a tradition rooted in discipline, devotion and artistic excellence. Under the mentorship of Acharya Prathiba Satyavannan, a B High Grade Doordarshan artiste and recipient of honours including the Natyavedha Award, National Nritya Mani Award, Natya Bharathi Award and the Dr. Abdul Kalam Prashasti, the school has become a vibrant space where classical dance is passed on with authenticity and purpose.

Ananta, meaning “eternal” or “infinite,” celebrates the boundless glory of the Divine through Bharatanatyam. Inspired by stories of gods, goddesses, and celestial beings, the performance unfolds timeless narratives of courage, compassion, wisdom and devotion. Through expressive abhinaya, graceful movement and evocative storytelling, the dancers invite audiences on a spiritual journey that reminds us of the eternal presence of the divine in our lives.

Heritage Beku presents a traditional Bharatanatyam recital by the disciples of Lakshya Academy of Arts under the guidance of Vid. Smt. Anushree R.

A dedicated Bharatanatyam artiste, teacher and choreographer, Vid. Smt. Anushree R has devoted her life to preserving and propagating the classical traditions of Bharatanatyam. Trained under Guru Smt. Preethi Krishna and Guru Smt. Suma Rajesh, she has performed extensively at renowned dance festivals and sacred temple spaces across India, including Chidambaram Natyanjali, Mysore Natyanjali, Horanadu, Brihadeeshwara Temple and several historic temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Through Lakshya Academy of Arts, founded in 2020, she continues to mentor young dancers with a strong emphasis on discipline, devotion and artistic excellence, creating meaningful opportunities for them to learn, perform and grow.

This Sunday, the students of Lakshya Academy of Arts will present a traditional Margam, the classical Bharatanatyam repertoire that traces a dancer’s artistic and spiritual journey. The recital features invocatory pieces dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, Goddess Saraswati and Lord Hanuman, culminating in the powerful Shiva Panchakshara Stotram. Through graceful movement, intricate rhythm, expressive storytelling and timeless compositions, the performance celebrates the devotional essence of Bharatanatyam as both an art form and an offering.

Heritage Beku & Cubbon_Park_Horti_GOK presents BRINDAVANA – Enchanting Krishna Leele, a soulful Bharatanatyam performance by Bengaluru-based artiste Gowri Bharadwaj at the Cubbon Park Bandstand on 21st June,2026.

A dedicated disciple of acclaimed Bharatanatyam exponent and choreographer Guru Sathyanarayana Raju of _Samskruthi – The Temple of Art_, Gowri has been training in the Pandanallur bani from a young age with deep commitment to the classical arts. Having performed across 50+ prestigious cultural and temple platforms including TTD, Guruvayur Temple, Mysore Dasara Mahotsava and the Vaishakha Natanam Series, she brings together devotion, discipline, and expressive storytelling through dance.

Through BRINDAVANA, Gowri will bring alive the playful, romantic and divine leelas of Lord Krishna, weaving together bhakti, abhinaya, rhythm and grace in a performance rooted in the spirit of Indian classical tradition.

Kalaahamsa is at Cubbon Park Bandstand this Sunday 3rd May with their signature Bhajan Jamming — a contemporary devotional music experience.

With 12+ years of performing across India, Kalaahamsa is a 10-member vocal powerhouse that sings in 10 languages. This Saturday, they’ll keep it proudly Namma Kannada. Backed by soulful violinists, guitarists, keyboardist, and a drummer who turns crowds into choirs, their motto is simple: make the audience sing and dance along.

Bhajan Jamming :Audience-led singing and clapping, multi-language appeal, and high-energy, stress-busting vibes. Perfect for families, festivals, and community gatherings.
