It provides analysis and solution of major social ethics, comments on political, social, cultural and philosophical issue and valuable documents and studies from the heritage of the pro human movement. The CSRG is an autonomous institution and has been established with the objective of studying major policy issues before the society and suggesting alternative policy options. The CSRG conceives of
its larger role as one of contributing to the clarification of the continuing national and social debate on the present and future development of the Indian society. Moreover we have realized the need of activism to implement the above said alternatives. The CSRG works in close cooperation with policy makers both political and administrative, academic policy researchers and the media. It seeks to bring together on each issue, the key policy actors, namely, politicians, policy thinkers, education and administrators. The CSRG has been involved in several important debate and policy making exercises in political, economic, education and social fields. By its very character the CSRG is designed to promote highly focused research on the short, medium and long term policy problems. The CSRG aims to meet the need, felt widely today, for an intelligent appraisal of the problems of contemporary society. It addresses itself to the masses of people who are dissatisfied with the present state of social life, as well as its cynical and reactionary treatment by the media. We bring out a political and social perspective to those troubled by the monstrous level of social inequality, which has produced an ever widening chasms between the wealthy few and the mass of the world’s people. As great events, from financial crises to eruption of militarism, materialism, cultural invasion, economic invasion and war, break up the present state of class relations, the CSRG will provide a political orientation for the growing ranks of working people thrown into struggle. We anticipate enormous battles in every country against unemployment, austerity policies, human rights violation and violation of democratic rights. The Center for Social Research and Guidance insists change in the present patterns of the society and we believe that these struggles need extra ideological power, that the success of these struggles is inseparable from the growth in the influence of a socialist, secular political movement. We welcome a broad exchange of viewpoints with workers, students and intellectuals who are seeking an alternative to bourgeois politics and capitalist economics. Polemics and debate, the dialectical means by which knowledge and truth are established, are an integral component of the CSRG.
