“Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine and at last you create what you will.”
- George Bernard Shaw

AAROHI, a dream child of Guru. Soudamini Venkatesh, a disciple of Pt. Vinayak Torvi and Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, was created in the year 1998 with a view to provide a platform for young upcoming talents pursuing Indian Classical Music and to supp

ort their yearning for enhancement of knowledge by periodically organizing recitals and workshops by reputed exponents of Indian Classical Music. AAROHI, has since organized several concerts, baithaks and workshops. “Garjat Malhar” and “Grishma Garima” have been the prominent annual concerts of AAROHI that have featured some of the eminent artists like Pt Venkatesh Kumar, Smt. Jayanthi Kumaresh, Ustad Chote Rehmat Khan, Pt. Praveen Godkindi, Sri. Jayateerth Mevundi, Pt. Kaivlya Kumar and several others. AAROHI has even financially supported many deserving students of music in their pursuit of excellence. AAROHI, after a brief break, is now re-launching itself with a new initiative to hold concerts and baithaks across Bangalore once every two months, of young upcoming artists, with a view to give them ‘the concert experience’ and a platform to perform. It is also endeavouring to collaborate with other organizations to conduct concerts and baithaks in different parts of the country with a primary objective to reach out to connoisseurs of music and instil avid interests in the youth. With a desire to promote our rich tradition of music, AAROHI is set to rekindle the taste of Indian Classical Music in the hearts of the people.
