TFA's production of Innocence, an adaptation of Franz Kafka's The Trial set in today's India, is returning for three more shows at the RANGASHANKARA on March 6 and 7. Written and directed by Anmol Vellani, this black comedy was supported by the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Bangalore. TFA is happy to announce the longlist for the 2026 Toto Award for Creative Writing in Kannada, which is supported by Bhoomija Trust.

The award for Creative Writing in Kannada was inaugurated in 2011 by the noted Kannada writer and intellectual U R Ananthamurthy. Supported by Bhoomija Trust since its inception, the first award in this category was won by writer and theatre person Mounesh Badiger. Since then it has been won by short fiction writers and poets from all over Karnataka, many of whom have gone on to become published writers and to win literary awards given by the state and central governments.

ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸೃಜನಶೀಲ ಯುವ ಬರಹಗಾರರಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತೇಜನ ನೀಡುವ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಕಳೆದ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಟೊಟೊ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರವು ಈವರೆಗೆ ಹಲವು ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತರನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿದೆ. ಭೂಮಿಜ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟಿನ ಬೆಂಬಲದಿಂದ ಕೊಡಮಾಡುವ ಈ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯು ೨೯ ವರ್ಷ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನೊಳಗಿನ ಬರಹಗಾರರಿಗೆ ಮೀಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಕಥೆ, ಕವಿತೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಾಟಕ ಈ ಯಾವುದೇ ಪ್ರಕಾರದ ಸೃಜನಶೀಲ ಬರವಣಿಗೆಯು ಬಹುಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಅರ್ಹವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷ ಈ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡದ ಹಿರಿಯ ಬರಹಗಾರರ ಸಮಿತಿಯು ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ. ತಮ್ಮ ಬರವಣಿಗೆಯ ಆರಂಭದ ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹುಮಾನ ಪಡೆದ ಬರಹಗಾರರು ತದನಂತರ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಗಮನಾರ್ಹ ಸಾಧನೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರಿಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ದೊರಕಿರುವ ಮನ್ನಣೆಗಳು ಟೊಟೊ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯ ಹಿರಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿವೆ

Introduced in 2013 and set up in memory of Dr Sanat Kumar Ghosh, the Short Film awards can be won by the directors of animation, documentary, fiction, experimental, or mixed genre films of 30 minutes or less. Eminent filmmakers, editors, and film critics and journalists have formed part of the jury over the years.

The TOTO Awards for Creative Writing in English are supported by Naboneeta Majumdar
(in memory of Dipali and Nitai Majumdar) & Sarita Vellani. Introduced in 2006, the awards in this category have been won by poets, short story writers and playwrights. The volume of entries has grown exponentially over the years and has explored a diversity of styles and themes – from performance poetry to science fiction. The composition of the jury for these awards includes poets, literary critics, novelists, journalists, scholars and teachers from different parts of the country.
