This special camp, held on the occasion of World Glaucoma Week 2025 (March 9-15), aligns with this year’s theme: "Uniting for a Glaucoma-Free World".

Glaucoma, a silent thief of sight, can lead to irreversible vision loss if not detected early. Our goal? Encourage regular eye exams to catch it in time and save sight! Suspected glaucoma cases will be referred to specialized centers like Vittala International Institute of Ophthalmology, with free treatment, surgery, and medicines provided to underprivileged patients.

Did you know? From March 2024 to February 2025, we screened 2,218 poor patients at our weekly Friday camps and referred 117 suspected cases for advanced care. We’re committed to eye health year-round—join us to make a difference!

Bothra Foundation was honoured by the Glaucoma Society of India.
We are thrilled to announce that Bothra Foundation has been recognized by the Glaucoma Society of India at its 33rd Annual Conference in Puducherry on September 27, 2024. This honour celebrates our 25-year commitment to screening, diagnosing, and managing glaucoma for under-served communities in Bangalore and our efforts in creating public awareness about glaucoma through seminars and social media campaigns across India.

The recognition was conferred by Her Excellency Ms Kiran Bedi, former Governor of Puducherry, during the inaugural function of the three-day conference. Mr. Hemanth Kumar Bothra, trustee of Bothra Foundation, received the award on behalf of our organization.

Some highlights of our recent initiatives in collaboration with the Glaucoma Society of India include:

- Organizing a vintage car rally in Bengaluru to raise awareness
- Distributing informational posters, leaflets, and banners
- Conducting TV talk shows and public seminars with glaucoma experts across various Indian cities
- Offering free eye tests twice a week for glaucoma screening at our medical centre in Bengaluru

Founded by C P Bothra on July 7, 1999, the Bothra Foundation has been serving the underserved community in Bengaluru across all chronic disease areas for the last 25 years, providing free-of-charge services to patients.
