UIM started off with the Lord stirring a group of friends to put their home in order in the year 1998. As we repaired our family altars and put our home in order through a weekend camp, God burdened us about our friends’ families. Slowly our burden increased to families in the corporate, families in the community, impoverished families in the slums. Step by step we went in obedience to the stirring and leading of the Holy Spirit and now UIM has turned out to be the largest family ministry in India and have catered to families in more than 40 cities of India and abroad serving churches of varied denominations and affiliations. UIM has intervened in a unique way to cater to the three specific groups of people namely the urban middle class, urban teens and urban poor. Today UIM’s ministry fulfils its objective of transforming cities one home at a time through six different ways of intervention. They are Family Counseling, Family life education, Life skills and Value education program for teens in schools, Compassion ministry in slums for families and children, Media ministry through television, magazine and websites and Training programs on Family education and counselling .
