This year 2013 we celebrated the 67th Independence Day, but still find the poverty, disparity, casteism communalism, separatism prevalent in our country. Our freedom fighters had an ideology of a Nation free from all these evils. Even though most of the Freedom fighters were from different caste, religion and socio-economic class, they believed in providing equal opportunities for all. The Constit
ution of India gives the ideology of providing a level field for the citizens in all the sectors. Without a debate, today, we definitely agree that there is no level field (ie equal opportunity) in any sector. Besides the level field (or equal opportunity), there was an ideology of equal status. Status does not literally mean only in terms of economic status but involves the livelihood. Livelihood involves health, education, transport, Home, clothes, clean water etc. But today in reality there is a lot of disparity in livelihood among the citizens. Why haven’t the ideologies of our freedom fighters in our Constitution succeeded in providing equal opportunity and status? Is it because we don’t have people who believe in this ideology? Recently we witnessed the ideology’s presence in the Anna Hazare movement. Why did these small sparks fail to light the country? Most people in India wanted independence for their personal reasons, and hence the ideology of the few thousand freedom fighters did not sink into the hearts of the rest. The corruption is a symptom of reduced ethics among the people of our country. Corruption is about TAKING from others for selfish needs. The sacred ideology of independence was " Equal Status and Equal Opportunity" which is about sharing and giving. If this sacred ideology is imbibed in the millions, then there will be dichotomy of Giving vs Taking, and the idea of giving will win with perseverance. Hence we need an ideology of “Giving” to flourish
This can be achieved by the “movement of people” with an ideology "Equal Share Equal Livelihood ". All religions propagate this idea, but today in the secular world to propagate the idea using the religion could lead to communalism. It is ideal to severe the religion out of the movement and need the platform for this movement. ESELi (Equal Share Equal Livelihood ) provides it. ESELi has the vision of “Equal Share Equal Livelihood”. Livelihood involves Education, Health, Shelter, Food, Transport and other basic necessities for life. We have begun our efforts in the field of education, where the students are motivated and facilitated towards doing projects that are useful for the community. Pilot Project Workshops was successfully conducted in the Government Polytechnic, KGF. Students actively participated in the workshop and have finished projects: Automatic Street light, Electronic Letter Box, Touch security system, FM Bug and mobile detector. The Students are currently exhorted for making projects in the final year, that are useful to the community. In addition to our efforts in the field of education, we are planning to make our efforts in other fields which are listed below:
1) Health Camp
2) Environmental Campaign
3) Improve the relation between Auto drivers and the customer
4) Miscellaneous a) Eye Donation campaign

The Freedom fighters, Architects of free India envisioned a country of equals and created an edifice of authority representing the citizens to uphold the vision. The structure could not evolve to its environmental changes like population explosion, liberalization, globalization etc. This led to a huge gap between Rich & Poor, Urban & Rural, Educated and Uneducated. It is the responsibility of every citizen to reduce this gap through their actions. ESELi, as the name suggests provides a platform for such citizens to choose a path towards an egalitarian society. The quote of Mahatma Gandhiji “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs, but not every man’s greed”, has been used at innumerous stages and events. Even then the thought has not reached the hearts of men. WE urge you to be part of the movement that is sustainable.
