Step Up For India A Non Profit Organisation that designs and implements programs to support children in government schools - where we use our strengths to strengthen others.

Government Schools in India are facing challenges teaching English to primary school students, largely due to lack of enough faculty able to speak it properly. On the other hand, nowadays there are many volunteers who are willing to devote time, but lack either teaching skills, or a structured program that can make an impact. Step Up For India provides a modular, structured curriculum and accompanying teaching aids, that can be administered by a group of volunteers with as little as an hour per week's time commitment. This converts random efforts to a deeply impactful academic program, raising literacy levels amongst children

Students from Uttar Pradesh shared their Teacher’s Day wishes and spoke about the teachers who make
a difference in their learning journey. They expressed their appreciation for Poonam Pandey Ma’am,
especially for the way she teaches English and helps them learn with confidence. A simple but
meaningful thank you from young students to the teachers they look up to.

From English Skills to Healthy Habits: WNS & Step Up For India in Trimbakeshwar

Building healthier learning environments, together. 💙

Step Up For India is strengthening foundational English skills among children in government schools of Nashik district through with continued partnership with WNS.

As part of this collaboration, WNS volunteers also engaged children in Health & Hygiene activities across 14 schools in Trimbakeshwar Block, reaching 1,092 students.

A special thank you to the volunteers from WNS - Babasaheb Bhagwat, Mahendra Vispute, Milind Darwade, Machindra Jadhav, Anita, Umesh Bhadane, Sanjay Nahar, Ganesh Deshmukh, and Pravin Borse - for engaging with students and bringing these important lessons on hygiene, healthy habits, and cleanliness to life.

Students from Maharashtra shared their gratitude for the teachers who guide, mentor and support them every day.

They spoke about teachers helping them learn subjects like English and Mathematics, while also teaching values such as kindness and discipline.

They also shared how their teachers support them in learning English, reading and writing, and guide them in their everyday activities. We celebrate the teachers who encourage children to believe in themselves, keep learning and make them proud.

In AY 2026–27, Step Up For India’s modules are being implemented across 170 schools in Nashik, reaching 17,000+ students.

A Tribute to the Teachers of Step Up for
India From Educational Officers .

On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, educational officers from Chhattisgarh,
shared their heartfelt wishes and appreciation for the teachers of Step Up for India.
District Mission Coordinator (DMC), Block Resource Centre Coordinator (BRCC) &
Assistant Project Coordinator (APC) spoke about the important role teachers play
beyond the classroom, helping children build skills, prepare for the future, and
navigate a changing world. Their message also recognised the care, guidance
and encouragement teachers give children every day, shaping not just what they
learn, but who they become.
