Prisons Forum Karnataka will be holding its next meeting on Feb 12, 2022, between 6:00 - 7:30 PM (IST). We will read Chapter 1 of "Abolition. Feminism. Now" by Angela Davis, Gina Dent, Erica R. Meiners, and Beth E. Richie. Message us for a copy of the book and the meeting link.

Prisons Forum of Karnataka welcomes you to its second session on 21st Aug, 6PM to 7PM.

In this session, we will continue our discussion of -

1) K. Balagopal's Of Capital and Other Punishments (pages 7-35).

2) Allegra McLeod's essay on Grounding Justice.
Section V: Grounding Justice, and the Conclusions, on pages 1232 to 1239.

We would request everyone who attends read these sections and prepare for a discussion on the topics raised. Reading material can be accessed here - https://bit.ly/PFKA-1

In this discussion we would like to discuss:
1) What principles underlie the system?
2) What role does play in carrying out those principles? In what ways might incarceration undermine those principles?
3) What role could alternatives to incarceration play?
