The Right to Information (RTI) movement showed India what becomes possible when ordinary people gain access to the law. A question raised by workers in Rajasthan went on to transform how citizens across the country demand accountability from people of power.
And yet, even today, the people who experience injustice most closely are often the ones with the least access to the legal system itself.
At Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access (IDIA), we work to bridge that gap by supporting students from marginalised communities to enter law schools and become voices for their own communities.
Because when the law reaches people who have lived through inequality, it stops being just a profession. It becomes a tool for transformation.
