An initiative to help underprivileged students and spread awareness and encourage the youth towards taking up careers in defence by presenting rewards and scholarships. Sreejith Maloor Memorial Trust (SMMT) is a noble initiative taken up in the name of our beloved friend Flight Lieutenant Sreejith Maloor, whom we lost on 30th of August 2012 after two MI-17 helicopters collided midair during a rout
ine exercise at the Jamnagar airbase in Gujarat. The main motive behind this initiative is to keep up the spirit of Sreejith Maloor, propagating the ideals which he stood for and the manner in which he demonstrated his ideals and the mission for which he gave his life. SMMT's primary objective is to contribute to the defense of the nation by encouraging school children to take up a career in defense, and providing scholarships and token of appreciation to students who crack SSB(Service Selection Board) exam and are selected for the interview process. The trust is also looking forward to extend a helping hand to underprivileged students in government schools in order to fulfill basic requirements in form of books, stationery, guest lectures, and also with the possible monetary support.
