What does Kalaripayattu bring to a dancer’s practice? Strength, control, agility and a deeper awareness of the body.

As they prepare for their graduation performance, the Diploma students are taking their practice to the next level through rigorous Kalaripayattu training with their instructor, Nithin K.

The Attakkalari Diploma in Movement Arts and Pedagogy is a one-year, full-time intensive professional dance training programme for aspiring movement artists. The curriculum combines rigorous studio practice with critical engagement, offering training in Kalaripayattu, Bharatanatyam, contemporary dance techniques, ballet, fitness and body conditioning, pedagogy and other allied subjects.

The programme is facilitated by expert faculty from across India and around the world, supporting participants in developing technical proficiency and a nuanced understanding of movement arts.

Auditions for the programme are ongoing!

Watch Jayachandran Palazhy, Founder and Director of Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts, speak about their journey. He also taught the students - ‘Developing the Performative Self’ and continues to guide them as they prepare for their big day.
