National Recognition for Sparsha Trust’s Work in Raichur, Karnataka

We are proud to share that Sparsha Trust has received the SIAM CSR Award 2026 from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), recognising excellence in the Health, Sanitation & Wellbeing category at the 7th SIAM CSR Conclave held at Le Meridien New Delhi on 25th February 2026.

We sincerely thank SIAM & their partners for recognising and encouraging impactful grassroots initiatives like ours

Among numerous NGOs across the country, Sparsha Trust was selected for the impactful implementation of the ABCD – A Behavioral Change Demonstration project across 500 government schools in Raichur District, Karnataka.

Adding to this proud milestone, the ABCD project has also been recognised as one of the five outstanding projects conceptualised, developed, and supported by Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM).

Through this initiative, we have:

✔ Reached 92,000+ students across 500 schools
✔ Influenced 5.5 lakh+ community members
✔ Increased school toilet usage from 76% to 90%
✔ Strengthened standard handwashing practices from 20% to 90%
✔ Enabled sanitation infrastructure improvements through strong government convergence across 500 schools

It was a distinct honour to receive the award from Mr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, retired IAS officer and widely regarded as the Father of CSR in India.

This recognition belongs to every stakeholder who contributed to this journey. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the CSR team and the management of Toyota Kirloskar Motors for their unwavering partnership and support. We also sincerely thank the District Administration, Head Masters, teachers, Children’s Cabinets, students, SDMC members, and community members whose ownership and participation made this transformation possible across Raichur District.

This honour strengthens our resolve to continue building healthier, safer, and more dignified communities across the nation.

Saamuhika Shakti Initiative Strengthens Education in Medi Agrahara | 2026

Sparsha Trust, as part of the collective impact initiative Saamuhika Shakti, proudly inaugurated a Community-Based Centre in Medi Agrahara, Bengaluru marking a major milestone in ensuring quality education and holistic development for children.

The inauguration on 19th February 2026 was graced by Ms. Shakuntala Devi (CDPO), Ms. Tejaswini (ACDPO),Mr. Ganesh S. Kolageri, Founder of Dalit Samara Sena, Sri Alanguru Shivanna mentor and supporter - Sparsha Trust, Kolara District, and Mr. Gopinath R, Managing Trustee of Sparsha Trust.

Since 2024, the initiative has been working to address school dropouts, and never-enrolled children. Out of 22 identified children in 2025, 20 have been successfully re-enrolled in schools through bridge courses, counseling, and consistent community engagement.

The newly established Centre now supports 20 children with academic reinforcement, life skills, and child rights awareness, strengthening their learning journey beyond school hours.

Addressing the gathering,
Mr. Ganesh S. Kolageri emphasized that education is the true power of development and highlighted the importance of nurturing curiosity and positive behavior in every child.

Ms. Shakuntala Devi, CDPO, appreciated the efforts of Sparsha Trust in promoting holistic development among children in the community.

Mr. Gopinath R, Managing Trustee of Sparsha Trust, stated that the Community-Based Centre provides a valuable platform for every child to excel academically and grow holistically.

Together, this initiative stands as a powerful example of community collaboration and commitment to ensuring every child has access to education and opportunities for a brighter future.
