Fluid Power Society of India

Fluid Power Society of India (R), which was established in 1973, is a non-profit professional body committed to promoting Fluid Power Knowledge and technology

In 1973, a group of technocrats, practicing engineers, manufacturers and academicians founded the Fluid Power Society of India with the objective of disseminating the tremendous potential that the fluid power industry has, to all those connected with it, in any capacity. FPSI is a not for profit professional body committed to promoting Fluid Power knowledge and technology in the country. The Fluid Power Industry has evolved comprehensively over the last century and has generated intensive research, efficient production systems and integrated applications. The fluid power industry has three large segments: mobile hydraulics, industrial hydraulics and pneumatics. Historically, the mobile hydraulic segment has been the largest, accounting for about 50% of total fluid power sales. The industrial hydraulic and pneumatic segments are nearly the same size, each with about 25% of total fluid power sales. The major sectors in which fluid power finds applications are:

Construction and Mining Equipment
Industrial Process Equipment & Control
Aerospace & Defence
Steel plants
Agri-machinery
Automotive
Marine equipment
Machine tools

FEATURES

DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION OF PNEUMATICALLY ACTUATED INCHWORM ROBOT
This concept focusses on robotic design offered by bio-inspired designs from an inchworm, a tiny insect.. This is a category of mobile robot designed to move in confined environments, especially restricted ones. These can be used to save trapped survivors in case of a disaster,, dangerous areas like a chemical leakage or a radioactive area and applications in agricultural sector where there is lack of human labor and the risks associated with the climbing of trees are high.

Design, Development, and Control of Soft Bidirtectional Bending Actuators
This research presents the dynamic modelling and self-evolving fuzzy-based closed-loop control for Soft Bidirectional Bending Actuator (SBBA) with hyper-elastic modelling using visual feedback. Soft robotics has emerged as a new domain that blends engineering, material science, and robotics to create flexible, adaptable, and biologically inspired robotic systems.
