NoteBook Drive and interact with the supported schools and organise events for the benefit of students have been added.

This is a student run volunteer group in Indian Institute of Science whose objective is to help the under privelged students, by providing notebooks, stationery etc. Notebook Drive is an initiative started by a group of researchers of IISc in 2002 with the objective of supporting the education of underprivileged kids. The group began with supporting a single school in IISc, but today the activiti

es span over 31 schools in and around Bangalore. The earliest and the core activity of the group have been distribution of notebooks and stationary to the kids. With time, new initiatives like provision of library and sports facilities, organizing science fairs/workshops, conducting various activities as Children’s day celebrations, giving scholarships to meritorious students, mentoring students for science projects, regular English communication sessions, etc. With NBD in its sixteenth year, it has gained an unprecedented support and respect from the campus community. This group is a modest effort to transform students from literate to educated youth. All we need is the constant support and enthusiasm and working hands: the vision that Swami Vivekananda had, can indeed be a reality."

Notebook drive is all set to conduct a career guidance session program for class 10th students from government schools neighbouring IISc campus.

We are reaching out to IISc community to volunteer for this cause. A volunteer is expected to spend two hours
with these students educating them about current and future trends of career opportunities.

It is an immense pleasure for NoteBook Drive to bring to your notice about its annual event: the “Children’s Day Celebration” for the year 2023. This event is nothing but a journey back in time to the most cheerful part of our life, “Childhood”. NBD is gearing up to spend a day across 25 government schools in and around Bangalore on Saturday, 18th of November 2023, amongst little children. The event aims to break the monotony of the children’s academic life by bringing out their creative side.

Greetings from Notebook Drive IISc!

1 in 11 children go to work when they should be in school. When it is hard to afford necessities like food, shelter, and clothing; education becomes a luxury that the poor give up. Here, in IISc, Notebook Drive provides an opportunity to the people who wish to contribute for the betterment of underprivileged children struggling around us. Therefore, donate for their school supplies, support them with scholarships, and help nurture budding minds to showcase their talents.

We are conducting the fundraising for the same in front of all the messes from 30th March to 2nd April 2023 (Thursday to Sunday). You can also transfer your contributions online through bank transfer:
