Last week, we conducted our first ‘Child Journalism Workshop’ for 30 children from our Children’s Clubs.

We taught them ‘research and reporting’ as well introduced them to tools for radio, broadcast, print and digital media news production.

Together with the children, we plan to launch a Child Led News bulletin in the upcoming year. We can’t wait for it!

On 13th and 14th of December, we launched our first 'Child Journalism Workshop' in Koderma, India. Aligning with our 'Speak Up' initiatives, the workshop focused on equipping children with skills and basic knowledge on print, radio and broadcast journalism.

A total of 30 children were selected across different Children's Clubs from our Mica project for this workshop. The first day focused on 'reporting and research methods' and the second day on 'communication tools'. Our ice-breaker sessions and exercises brought the children closer together. This team spirit and bonding helped them come out with impressive mock news videos of their own.

We thank the Asia Regional Communications Team for helping
us with the design of this workshop. We are excited to take this forward by following up with the Children's Clubs, working towards planning a 'Child-Led news bulletin' campaign in the near future.
