Three Practices, One State – Culture, Climate, and the practice of Design & Architecture
The event explores how the specific "spirit of place" dictates architectural form. By moving from the border-culture of Belgaum to the monsoon-driven coast of Mangalore, and finally to the globalized pulse of Bangalore, we map the state’s diverse design identity.
Focusing on the "cultural DNA" of Karnataka through three distinct geographical lenses—the Marathi-influenced North (Belagavi), the humid Coastal belt (Mangalore), and the Cosmopolitan hub (Bengaluru)—This IIID’s First PRO Series gives us a very strong narrative arc.
