I’m always struck by leaders who take what they learn and intentionally pass it on to their teams—their “work family.” I recently met one such leader while training in Thailand. Despite her extensive experience with children, children’s homes, and the system, she recognized that a trauma-informed workplace would help her team go further in their work.
She spent nearly a year thoughtfully planning how to make this training accessible, and it came together on March 17–18, 2026. What stood out was not just that she introduced her team to trauma-informed care, but that she also extended the opportunity to others in her network. Childcare professionals were able to engage with foundational learning on trauma and mental health, and even children from hard places were included through a value-based session focused on hope and change.
“Impressed” feels too small a word for what this kind of leadership looks like in action.
