"ವಂಚನೆಗೊಳಗಾದ ಹೂಡಿಕೆದಾರರ ಕುಟುಂಬ", “ठगी पीड़ित जमा करता परिवार”, Thugi Pidit Jamakarta Pariwar (TPJP) demands enforcement of BUDS Act 2019, that was enacted to protect gullible investors from unregulated schemes operated by various fraudulent companies, including credit cooperative societies.
TPJP is deeply concerned about the fact that the competent authorities designated under the Central Law BUDS Act 2019 and the State PID Act are not taking legal action against these fraudsters, nor are they acting on the petitions of victims. Many competent authorities are even setting up the repayment course, which is an outright violation of law. Earlier, several memoranda were submitted to the President, Prime Minister, Chief Ministers, and various public authorities seeking strict actions against thugs and repaying victims under the Buds Act 2019, but none of the competent authorities have complied with those orders and laws, which is very sad. Instead, they are using silly excuses such as not receiving instructions from the government or orders from courts. As a result, several crores of rupees in repayments to economic offence victims are pending. The TPJP also highlights the fact that millions of victims have committed su***de due to the negligence of corrupt public servants who are apparently in collusion with thugs. The lives of surviving victims have also been uprooted.
Central BUDS Act 2019 and the State PID Act require the government to protect collective funds, restitute the risked investments, provide adequate facilities for victims to establish their claims, make enough provisions for repayments of at least two to three times the investments within 180 days, and sanction fair compensations for undue suffering. Contrarily, the government is not only failing to recover the money from these fraudsters but has also completely abandoned the victims to suffer losses. The possibility of compensation is far away in such a horrific situation; at least the right to repayment remains undeniable; to deny even that is unbearable. It is therefore imperative upon the government to fairly compensate all those who have been affected by such unfortunate regulatory failures. While competent authorities must responsibly implement the aforesaid policy and ensure the stipulations for relief and repayments are delivered quickly,
To defend this injustice and ensure effective implementation of the BUDS Act 2019 and State PID Act, the TPJP is campaigning nationwide since August 25, 2022, under the "Mission Payment" Satyagraha movement. The Satyagraha movement is intended to create wide public awareness to ensure the country becomes a fraud-free and safe nation. TPJP Satyagraha movement is urging all governments to take strict legal action against the thug perpetrators, who have cheated thousands of citizens across the country and emblazed millions of crores of collective funds by violating state and central acts. TPJP Satyagraha movement is also demanding to facilitate repayments to victims in 180 days by legitimate means; otherwise, the victim families, whose number is more than 42 crore, will start nationwide rallies from the birth anniversary of Pujya Bapu onwards on October 2, 2023, and will not allow corrupt rulers to rule.
So, the specific demands of TPJP's Satyagraha movement are,
1) Enforce strict legal action against thugs and ensure repayments to victims within 180 days in compliance with the BUDS Act 2019 and State PID Act.
2) Designate competent authorities and special courts and effectively implement the BUDS Act 2019 and the State PID Act in spirit as well.
3) Display posters of the BUDS Act 2019 at all public authority offices and promote scam prevention advertisements in news papers and news channels as stipulated in the BUDS Act 2019.
4) Encourage victims to easily submit complaints, fearlessly establish their claims, and receive their repayments within 180 working days.
3) Prioritize economic offence investigations to identify the real culprits, establish guilt and liabilities, charge for all the offences, streamline prosecutions, and ensure maximum convictions.
4) Consider providing interim relief, including financial support, to avoid disruption of victim's lives and also provide adequate compensation to economic offence victims to live without fear.
