Madhavanunni Vallat is a scientist/engineer who has driven a large state project for desalination to offer millions of freshwater litres. Is this a solution the world and our cities should pursue? With several hundreds or thousands of crores spent on such projects, and with the per litre cost being much more than what you will pay for bottled water, do such solutions make sense?
