NYC - ATTENTION ALL RESCUERS AND FOSTER HOMES. CALL TO ACTION!
Due to the recent tragic death of my wife, Uptown Cats is forced to halt all rescue work, and immediately depopulate our shelter. We must surrender 23 rescued cats currently in our care.

All are spayed/Neutered, vaccinated, etc. THEY need your help!! NOT ME!

All these animals must be under safe care by the end of November 2025; the clock will run out on those that are not placed by then. Regrettably, this is the sad reality.

Rescue org with 501 status. I may be able to get a one-time donation to you for participating.

This Google Drive link contains photos of all the cats. take a look at their photos. All these cats were at one time AT RISK CATS ON THE MEAN STREETS OF UPPER MANHATTAN AND THE SOUTH BRONX https://drive.google.com/.../16V0ZWMtCiAv1qZ7e875yWdSoFXn...

URGENT NYC — CAT STUCK IN CAR ENGINE BLOCK.

We just received a call from resident of the upper Manhattan area, at or around 125th Street. Man reported a cat trapped in the engine bay of a parked car. The cat is in distress.

This is usually the kind of calls I respond to. However, due to a recent crisis in my family, Uptown Cats will not be able to continue responding to these emergency calls for at-risk street cat rescues. At least for a time.

Any rescue groups/Rescuers other than those of you who point to a cat in a cage at the ACC and take it to a foster, who can respond, Please contact the resident who reported this situation, 503-505-3309. When the car's owner returns and starts his car, the cat will not do well.

NOTE: THIS PHOTOGRAPH IS A STOCK PHOTO, NOT THE ACTUAL CAT, NOT THE ACTUAL CAR. FOR ILUSTRATION ONLY.

Due to the tragic loss of my wife, who was on the board of Uptown Cats Rescue. Uptown Cats is on pause. We will either restructure and resume at some point in the future or dissolve.

We must quickly depopulate all the cats. We need colonies caretakers for 5 of our feral cats, and safe spaces for 15 domesticated cats. (Funding has been allocated for anyone who will intake some or all of the cats)

If you can assist in any capacity or can provide referrals, please do not use the comment section; I won’t see it. Preferably, email us. [email protected]

Anyone who wants to adopt can also be helpful.

As I announced last week on this page, my wife passed away on October 5th, 2025 after her four-year struggle with cancer .
She was the light of my world, bright enough to offer the rest of the world the loving warmth of any celestial star in the heavens. She shone from the very start. Her musical talent, even as a child, held the highest promise to became the world-class Pianist she was.
Anonymously, she contributed to the cause of saving animals. Since I started Uptown Cats Rescue, she served on the board of directors as treasurer and was the behind-the-scenes driving force of all our efforts to rescue at-risk street cats from the mean streets of NYC.
