The Society for Western Orissa Research & Development (PRERANA) was set up as a non-political, non-profit making voluntary development organization on 1st January 2002 and now registered under the Indian Societies Registration Act 1860 vide Regd. It was founded by eminent social worker Sri Sudhir Kumar Bhoi, who is presently the Honorary Chairman & Chief Executive of the organization as well as th
e man responsible for different noble social activities of the organization. The motto of PRERANA is to mobilize public opinion and generate resources for supporting development Action. It recognizes the right of every Indian to lead a life with dignity and self-respect in a just and equitable society. It feels the need to improve the capacities of individuals, communities and women, to improve the quality of lives and enhance their ability to negotiate from a position of strength; a strength that would come from being educated, in good health and having the capacity to be engaged in productive work. It takes initiative for the Integrated Development that would arrive out of the felt needs of the people.
