A proud and memorable moment at Indo-Arab Connect, as Mr. Babu (Thomas CA), Secretary of the Association of Medical Facilitators (AMF), receives recognition from the Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri V. D. Satheesan.

Founded in 2024, the Association of Medical Facilitators (AMF) is a non-profit organisation committed to strengthening the medical value travel ecosystem by bringing together medical facilitators and healthcare stakeholders, under the leadership of Mr Sujith Natesan, President, AMF, promoting transparency, integrity and best practices, and creating meaningful connections between healthcare providers, referral organisations and international patients.

AMF also works towards positioning Kerala as a premier global medical tourism destination, highlighting the state's advanced healthcare infrastructure, quality medical services, affordability, personalised patient care and unique combination of modern medicine and wellness.

Building a Global Vision for Kerala Medical Tourism

As a part of Indo Arab Connect 2026, the Association of Medical Facilitators (AMF India) hosted a high-level Stakeholder Consultation Meeting at Holiday Inn Kochi, bringing together representatives from the leading hospitals and healthcare institutions in Kochi.

Key areas discussed included:

• Positioning Kerala as a preferred global destination for medical tourism and Medical Value Travel (MVT)

• Strengthening collaboration among hospitals, medical facilitators, healthcare professionals, government bodies and other ecosystem partners

• Enhancing Kerala’s visibility and reputation in key international markets, particularly the GCC and Arab countries

• Creating a more seamless and patient-centric experience for international patients, from the initial enquiry and travel arrangements to treatment, accommodation, recovery and post-treatment care

• Leveraging Kerala’s unique combination of advanced medical expertise, internationally competitive healthcare, skilled professionals, Ayurveda, wellness, hospitality and tourism infrastructure

• Developing stronger international healthcare partnerships and referral networks

• Identifying opportunities to improve coordination within the Medical Value Travel ecosystem and create a more integrated approach to international patient services

• Exploring collaborative strategies to enhance trust, accessibility, quality and global competitiveness of Kerala’s healthcare sector

One of the strongest messages from the discussion was that Kerala’s medical tourism potential can be transformed into global leadership only through collaboration.

From Potential to Global Leadership: Positioning Kerala as a Premier Medical Value Travel Destination

A significant and insightful discussion on strengthening Kerala’s position as a leading Medical Value Travel (MVT) destination was held with the participation of senior leadership from some of Kochi’s leading hospitals.

The discussion was led by Hon. Minister for Tourism, Shri P. C. Vishnunadh, who listened to valuable suggestions and perspectives from senior management representing the healthcare sector.

The session brought together key stakeholders to explore how Kerala can further leverage its world-class healthcare infrastructure, clinical expertise, hospitality, wellness ecosystem and tourism potential to attract more international patients and establish Kerala as a globally preferred destination for medical and wellness travel.

From healthcare quality and international patient services to destination promotion, connectivity, policy support and seamless patient experiences, the discussions highlighted the need for stronger collaboration between the Government, hospitals, tourism stakeholders and Medical Value Travel facilitators.

Kerala has all the ingredients to become a global leader in Medical Value Travel. The next step is to transform this potential into a strong, coordinated and globally competitive ecosystem.
