Strengthening To***co Control in Palghar District 🛡️

On March 11, 2026, a pivotal district-level orientation workshop was held at the District Collector’s Office, Palghar. Organized by Marathwada Gramin Vikas Sanstha (MGVS) in collaboration with the District To***co Control Cell (Civil Hospital, Palghar), the session focused on rigorous implementation of to***co control frameworks.

Key Highlights:

Expert Guidance: The workshop was presided over by Additional District Collector Shri Bhausaheb Fatangare, District Civil Surgeon Dr. Ramdas Marad, and District Health Officer Dr. Santosh Choudhari.

Comprehensive Training: MGVS Secretary Mr. Appasaheb Ugale sensitized 49 high-level officials on COTPA 2003, NTCP frameworks, and the critical FCTC Article 5.3.

Inter-Departmental Action: Representatives from the FDA, Home Dept, Education, GST, Income Tax, and Transportation departments united to discuss the health hazards of to***co and the enforcement of control laws.

Concern India Foundation आणि DCB Bank यांच्या सहकार्याने Marathwada Gramin Vikas Sanstha (MGVS) मार्फत ढाकेफळ येथे जलसंपदा विकास (WRD) प्रकल्प राबविण्यात येत आहे. या प्रकल्पाच्या माध्यमातून जलसंधारण कामांची दीर्घकालीन शाश्वतता आणि गावकऱ्यांचा सहभाग वाढवण्यासाठी विशेष प्रयत्न केले जात आहेत.

या उद्देशाने ग्राम विकास समिती (VDC) आणि पाणी वापर गट (WUG) यांच्यासाठी क्षमता विकास (Capacity Building) प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम आयोजित करण्यात येत आहेत.

ही समुदाय-आधारित संस्थाने खालील बाबींमध्ये महत्त्वाची भूमिका बजावतात:

• नियोजन व निर्णय प्रक्रियेत सक्रिय सहभाग
• गावकऱ्यांचे संघटन व जनजागृती
• जलसंधारण संरचनांची देखभाल व नियमित पाहणी
• वाद निराकरण व पारदर्शक व्यवस्थापन सुनिश्चित करणे

पाणी वापर गटासाठी (WUG) तांत्रिक प्रशिक्षण

सप्टेंबर २०२५ मध्ये पाणी वापर गटातील २८ निवडलेल्या शेतकऱ्यांसाठी जलसंपदा विकासाच्या तांत्रिक बाबींवर प्रशिक्षण आयोजित करण्यात आले.

या प्रशिक्षणामध्ये प्रत्यक्ष प्रात्यक्षिके आणि क्षेत्रभेटीद्वारे खालील विषयांवर मार्गदर्शन करण्यात आले:

• जलसंधारण संरचनांचे डिझाईन, अंदाजपत्रक व मोजमाप
• संरचनांचा योग्य वापर व देखभाल
• नॉन-ऑब्जेक्शन सर्टिफिकेट (NOC) चे महत्त्व
• कार्यक्षम सिंचन पद्धती
• जलसंवर्धन व सेंद्रिय शेतीचे महत्त्व

ग्राम विकास समितीचे सक्षमीकरण

याचबरोबर ग्राम विकास समिती (VDC) सदस्यांसाठीही विशेष प्रशिक्षण आयोजित केले जात आहे. या प्रशिक्षणामध्ये खालील बाबींवर भर दिला जात आहे:

• वॉटरशेड प्रकल्पाचे नियोजन व प्रभावी अंमलबजावणी
• पाणी बजेटिंग व शाश्वत जलसंपदा व्यवस्थापन
• वाद निराकरण व प्रकल्पाची सुरळीत अंमलबजावणी
• लोकवर्गणी व समुदाय योगदानाचे नियोजन व पारदर्शकता

या उपक्रमांद्वारे MGVS गावामध्ये सक्षम व जबाबदार समुदाय संस्था निर्माण करण्याचा प्रयत्न करत आहे, ज्यामुळे जलसंपदेचे शाश्वत व्यवस्थापन, सामुदायिक मालकी आणि दीर्घकालीन विकास सुनिश्चित होईल.

🌱 तळागाळातील नेतृत्व मजबूत करून जलसुरक्षित गावांकडे वाटचाल 🌱

वॉटरशेड विकास प्रकल्पांतर्गत धाकेफळ व परिसरातील गावांतील ग्रामविकास समिती (VDC), पाणी वापर संघ (WUG) प्रतिनिधी आणि ग्रामपंचायत पदाधिकाऱ्यांसाठी अभ्यासदौरा आयोजित करण्यात आला. या पथकाने आदर्श ग्राम पाटोदा आणि मानूर या आदर्श गावांना भेट देऊन तेथील यशस्वी समुदाय-आधारित जलव्यवस्थापन आणि सर्वांगीण विकास उपक्रमांचा अभ्यास केला.

✔ स्मार्ट प्रशासन व सेवा वितरणामध्ये ग्रामपंचायतीची भूमिका
✔ प्रत्यक्ष प्रात्यक्षिकांद्वारे जल अंदाजपत्रक (Water Budgeting) समजून घेणे
✔ पाणीसाठा वाढविण्यासाठी CNB, बंधारे व नाला खोलीकरण यांसारख्या संरचना
✔ समुदायाची मालकी भावना, वाद निवारण व वापरकर्ता शुल्क व्यवस्थापन
✔ निर्णयप्रक्रियेत व जलव्यवस्थापनात महिलांचा सक्रिय सहभाग

🌱 Strengthening Grassroots Leadership for Water-Secure Villages 🌱
As part of the Watershed Development Project, an exposure visit was organized for Village Development Committee (VDC) members, Water User Group (WUG) representatives, and Gram Panchayat leaders from Dhakephal and nearby villages. The team visited two model villages – Adarsh Gaon Patoda and Manur – to learn from their successful community-led water and development initiatives.

On 16/02/2026, at the District Collector Office, ration cards were distributed to the women beneficiaries of the Marathwada gramin Vikas SansthaTarget Group Intervention Project.

The distribution was carried out at the hands of Hon. Mahesh Dhawale (Chairman, State Food Commission, Maharashtra), Hon. Abhay Dhanorkar (District Health Officer), and Hon. Sandip Shinde (Supply Officer).
