Life span of the star is unpredictable, some like sun live up to 10 billion years. However, one star among us burnt out too early after 37 years. Dr. Mandeep Gill was granted a short time on this earth, but she lived every moment with passion and love. This was evident in personal life as she shared her love as a dedicated daughter, sister, wife, and a compassionate mother. In her professional lif
e, her passion to take care of under privileged as a doctor was unmatched. Growing up, she already knew what she wanted to become as she spent her childhood playing doctor with her sister and operating on her dolls. She was a charming girl, and filled with vigor. She would dance, sing, laugh and captivate everyone with her alluring personality. She achieved her childhood dream in 2001 of becoming a physician. She had a choice of working in large hospitals and living life of luxury. However, her heart was set at serving the impoverished people in our society. This passion drove her to work as Medical officer in Government clinics in the villages. As she worked in remote villages, she learned to share love, happiness with everyone, spread joy and see faces smiling back at her. "There are doctors who heal with their medicines and there are few who heal with love and affection", a beautiful smile by her was enough to revive hearts of her patients and they would reciprocate her love. Mandeep didn’t work for fame and glory. Her family and friends were not made aware of her accomplishments in medical field. Her accomplishments became more evident after left for heavenly abode through her patients and coworkers, who came to pay respects. She would visit villages for medical check ups, listen to them patiently like a friend, visit rural schools, giggle around with kids, and never hesitate hanging out with them. Unfortunately, Her life was cut short and she couldn’t finish the work she had started. On her personal side, she had started a family with her love and has two handsome twin boys. Although we have lost her physically, her spirit will remain with us forever. To honor her spirit and continue the work she started, this foundation will help uplift the lives of the underprivileged people. We would like to encourage you to get involved with this foundation whether you knew her personally or not, so that we can improve the health and living conditions of people, who are less privileged than us. Mandeep would have been happy to see more people involved to improve the lives of people who couldn’t afford healthcare otherwise.
