Dance dialogues and informative presentations are often important to re-locate and recharge our contemplative dwellings. A recent presentation by our students during Akalan (Performance evaluations) at Mahagami Gurukul was attended by parents and other attendees including a team of cultural seekers from Brazil. Followers of creative expressions, visual arts and dance, they asked a few questions that struck a deeper chord. A seemingly simple dance presentation unfolded as a reflective artistic dialogue. These are some of the nourishing stimulating aspects of a dancer's journey.

I have remained fascinated with the idea of 'movement'. Why we 'move', how we 'move' and how movements are essentially designs and codes. My ongoing journey exploring the multiple ways dance can be viewed, examined and understood has offered opportunities to continue the discourse with seekers, practitioners and researchers of various streams. Movement Science is one such area, I have remained interested in and have had interesting observations followed by offerings in the recent past. Having taught a course in Movement Science for a while and working on a project observing dance movements through scientific methods, I see a great potential in building a rich body of content around this theme. One of my forthcoming books Dance 360 that seeks to touch upon such journeys with dance has been progressing in 'vilambit laya' ( I wish it can pickup some momentum).
In this context, it was truly a welcome moment to be invited as Chairperson in an International Conference on Movement Science in Navi Mumbai. It was intriguing to observe deliberations by researchers on the Biomechanics of movement and on Yogic pathways. Inspired and excited to continue learning about movements.
